Evan POV

After taking care of her wounds and getting her to bed, she was finally asleep in my bed curled into a ball.

I sat on the edge of the bed, watching her as she slept calmly. I just wanted to lay down and hold her but we still haven't talked about the whole situation between us.
She was right- her father didn't take it good and I will kill him with my own hands as soon as I get the chance.

I sighed and dragged my hands over my face before standing up and walking out of the room to give her space.

I closed the door carefully and walked down the stairs to the kitchen were my family was still seated at the table, talking about what just happened.

They turned their attention to me as I walked in and sat down at the table, it was very late but everyone was still up.

I always stayed up late due to my studies and insomnia but I was surprised that my family was still up. Guess having a beat up girl in your house makes it a little more tense. Especially if that girl is the daughter of our most important business partner.

I leaned back in my chair and sighed before my mother spoke up.

"Is she asleep?" She asked carefully, more worriedly than angry,

"Yes- she's asleep" I replied.

"Is it the valiente girl?" My father spoke from my right and I just nodded as response.

"Who did that to her?" Mother said,

"Her father- " I sighed

"But- why? I understand that her grades are important but she didn't deserve to be beat up because of a grade" mother said once again,

"It wasn't because of her grades-" I closed my eyes and dragged my hand through my hair,

"Then why?" My sister said from my left.

"Don't tell me you two have a thing" my father said with a sigh from beside me again,
"You know that it's forbidden, hijo"

"I know! I know.,," I leaned my elbows on the table and leaned my face in my hands.

"We can take this conversation another time, she's here now and we have to take care of her. We don't tell her family that she's here, we don't need this alliance to break" my mom said calmly and all of us nodded,

"We should all get some sleep- we will take care of her as one of our own. End of discussion" father said before we all left the table and went to our rooms.

I walked into my room but stopped when I saw Valencia sitting up in the bed looking straight forward with empty eyes.

I closed the door and walked up to the bed before sitting down beside her.

"Valencia go back to sleep-" I said but she cut me off

"I can't sleep" she whispered still not looking at me,
