Life has needed some getting used to after Lucius's divorce with Narcissa. The pair, although left off on good terms, never truly saw eye-to-eye throughout their relationship.
Especially not sexually.
Lucius is a needy man. A man of extremes.
Narcissa, on the other hand, was always quite... boring... to him.
The sex wasn't the only reason for his wanted divorce, but it did play a big part. Narcissa wasn't too upset when he came forward with the want for separation. She was quite excited, really.
A chance for new found freedom. For the both of them.
With divorce comes some pressing changes, though. Like Narcissa taking Lucius's office elf as her own, since he was technically bought by Narcissa for Lucius.
This vexed Lucius, of course, as his precious servant was no longer available for him to stick all of his tedious work onto.
After contemplation on purchasing a new elf to do all of his work, Lucius decided that hiring an assistant would be much easier.
The interviewing process was more painful and dragging than he anticipated. Most interviewees wanted the position solely for the publicity. Others were desperate, run down women— some seemed to be older than Narcissa— who hoped to be the next Mrs. Malfoy.
It wasn't until a week later that he settled upon the perfect candidate. Young but certainly not a child. A woman who knew what she was doing. Who seemed to be heavily compliant. Shy and awkward enough to confirm she didn't want any hidden benefits he may deem as using him.
Just someone who was in need of a job.
And perhaps something more.
"Right, let me show you to your office." The platinum haired man directed the young girl. "You've to pass through my office to get to your area, but other than that you've been granted your own private space."
Alycia trailed behind the tall man silently, unsure about how to act towards him yet. The room he showed her was quite lovely, to her surprise. She's got her own desk and couch, along with lots of storage space and plenty of stationery items.
Her room has a window overlooking the view into the Ministry of Magic Headquarters. Lucius's office was quite a few stories up, which allowed him to observe other witches and wizards walking about as he procrastinated his work. Something Alycia figured she may enjoy from her own office space as well.
"Thank you." She said quietly and walked passed him through the doorway to further observe the space.
He nodded once and silently watched her.
"Your daily tasks have been listed on some parchment on your desk. Be sure that the first thing you do when you get here is look over your instructions for the day."
Alycia averted her gaze to the parchment lying on her desk. She nodded and started to read over them, thankful that he hasn't overwhelmed her with work yet.
"If you need anything I'm usually in there," He signaled to his own space, "if I'm not there I'm either in a meeting or on private business. Either of which are to be paid no mind to you. If you need something while I'm away, you're simply to wait for my arrival. Understood?"
Alycia expected strictness from her boss when she applied and got the job, but already she's taken aback by his demanding attitude.
She nodded and searched the room for anything to keep her eyes off of him.
Lucius was an attractive man— she couldn't lie about that. He carried himself with pride and dignity. Constantly. The contours of his chiseled cheekbones and jawline were almost godly amongst his milky skin.
