A tiresome sigh escaped Daniella's lips as the two trailed into her apartment. It was not even noon, but everything was set to be fixed, cleaned, and assessed. They took a brief inventory of everything in the bookshop as Cameron brought her friend down to assess the glass damage. He brought a temp patch kit and said he would be down tomorrow to fix it up. Cameron bought Daniella a decent breakfast at a local diner that was a few streets down before they treaded back to the apartment. Daniella was thankful that Cameron followed her in without a second thought. The two slumped back into Daniella's room and hid under the bedsheets. Their hands intertwined as eyes stared at each other. Daniella's dark orbs lacked the typical luster that it usually had.

"Thank you for staying by my side," Daniella stated quietly.

"Anything you need," Cameron replied softly.

"I hope that this is all he does." Cameron nodded in agreement. "If it isn't, I don't know what I'll do." Cameron released her hand and pulled the fragile woman into her. They stayed there in a comfortable silence. The tension vibrated off of Daniella. All Cameron did was hold the woman.

"It's going to be okay," she whispered in the other's ear. "IF you want, I can always call Jason and convince him to make chocolate chip cookies." A playful chuckle bounced into her ears in rebuttal.

"Cookies does sound like the best way to fix this day."

"Want me to call Jason?"

"Actually..." Her eyes flickered back with their usual spark as they stared up at Cameron. "Can we back them ourselves? I think it would be nice to get my mind off of everything."

"Do you have the stuff to make it?"

"We may have to go to the market." A soft chuckle rumbled out of Cameron as her arms tightened around her girlfriend.

"In a moment then," she said softly. "I just want to hold you for a while. It's been a rough day for you and the market does not sound that enticing right this second." Daniella hummed as she nuzzled into the crook of Cameron's neck.

"That sounds perfect."

A few hours later the two women made their way to a local market. They stared at the stands as they held hands and bought items specifically meant for chocolate chip cookies and dinner that night. The stands that they passed each held different local brands. A perk of living in such a lively city surrounded by country was that there was always a chance to see more local brands than bigger city markets. Daniella picked away at different vegetables while Cameron placed her attention on the little knacks that were nearby. The two kept their hands intertwined as they walked through the market.

"Well, look here! We got the local gays!" The sound of the southern drawl irked the two of them. Their attention turned from their shopping to a cocky grin and mirthless eyes. Cameron furrowed her brows as she placed her free hand on her hip. A fire burned inside of her chest that was bigger than the fears that usually held her tongue in confrontations. Daniella cowered slightly as her eyes looked downward. Cameron growled as she stepped in front of the two.

"Hey, you oversized bigot, get the hell over yourself." Cameron growled. The man just stared at the woman with a cocky smirk. His hand went through his hair and Cameron's eyes slightly widened. A small smile crept on her face a moment later. Her attention turned toward the stand that he stood at. It carried different combs of honey and soaps. It was very cute. A nice elderly woman stood around it as well and handed free samples of honey over to people. Her eyes glimmered as they turned to Daniella. "Hey babe, can you go see Charlene? I need some more tea for my place." Daniella's brow quirked.
