(Prologue is intentionally cliché. Trust me, things get more interesting starting at chapter one)
(The prologue is also likely way shorter than the chapters to come so don't worry about that)
(Remember that FGOD as a fanfic sub-genre is not canon to anything it contains. I've seen way too many people have their opinions on canon be influenced by it and I'd rather put an end to that [...mainly because I really enjoy Error's canon personality, being an unstable manbaby, something which his creator calls him a lot)

Error sighed as he gazed around at the people around him.
The day had started off as a normal day, the kind of day he'd see so often for as far as he could remember...
Which wasn't much, as he couldn't remember anything from before Fate had dragged him to the Antivoid.
At some point, a deity known as Fate had dragged him from his AU to the white space known as the Antivoid, as that seemed to be the only place Ink was unaware of. The place became his new home, and he populated it with the dolls and souls hung up by his strings.
The place wasn't a very friendly one, however. Over time and exposure, it could cause one to glitch. Such a thing happened to Error himself. That's how he lost his memory. He could never remember what he used to be, what his old life was, who his old friends were... nothing.
The only thing that drove Error more mad than the glitching was the loneliness, not just due to the isolated location, but also due to the role he was allotted by Fate:
Every day, Fate would scream at him to do his new job (a job he had no say in): Destroy AUs, some but not all. The multiverse had an AU limit and Ink was unaware of said limit, so he kept creating beyond it.
Fate was cold and distant. They'd never answer any questions. All they'd do is yell and demand.
And so, Error went on and did as he was told. He couldn't do much else about it.
Even with his ability to create portals, he knew that Fate would find him if he were to simply hide out somewhere else.
And, if he were to quit, what good would that do? The multiverse would collapse. The AU limit would be reached within a matter of days, and that was assuming Ink wasn't hit with a rush of inspiration.
Obviously, his reputation for destroying universes, causing countless deaths daily, didn't make him very popular. The few who got to know him liked him, like the Bad Guys, who were also widely hated and feared by the multiverse. They hung out with Error on occasion, and even teamed up sometimes. They were just about the only people who showed him anything that could be considered love (not as in of Level Of Violence), especially Nightmare (who seemed to empathize with him the most, as he had his past of being bullied).
