Dreamtale was one of the many, many universes Error had tried to destroy, and, for the most part, did. Most of the universe was just... gone. The council's meetings were held in a building built in the remains of it. The council consisted of beings from across the multiverse, led by Ink, and would meet whenever something bad was happening.

Ink had called a meeting with the Sanses of the multiverse (since most AUs had a Sans), along with any similar folk, even forcibly dragging the Bad Guys (Nightmare's team of murderous assholes [which consisted of only Sanses aside from Nightmare himself, who technically didn't count as a Sans) into this, to discuss the current situation:

Two AUs had seemingly collapsed on their own.

Error, local destroyer of universes, had (seemingly) been killed a while ago, so he was ruled out as the cause.

The majority of the multiverse had no clue about the limited amount of space for AUs, so they didn't realize the actual cause of the collapsing was Error's disappearance (since his job was destroying AUs to keep the cap from being reached, since Ink had no clue about the cap and thus kept creating).

"Alright, everyone," Ink said, sitting at the head of the table, "as we all know, Error's dead. That should've meant the end of the destruction... but recently, two AUs have been destroyed."

"And what do you want us to do about it, Squid?"

The question came from the corner of the table, closest to the corner of the room... the corner in which the Bad Guys were designated to sit (away from most of the others since no sane people wanted to sit next to the group of bloodthirsty serial killers [and Cross... and Horror], especially since they were pals with Error [though "pals" was certainly an overstatement. For the most part, the group didn't really care care for anyone). More specifically, it came from Nightmare, leader of the group and known for being absolutely terrifying to all but the most brave or foolish.

"Well," Ink replied, "I want you to help the rest of us!"

"..."

After a long pause, all five of the Bad Guys burst into laughter, much to Ink's annoyance.

"HEY!!! Take this seriously!!!"

"Oh, 'sorry' 'buddy," Nightmare continued, "but if you think we're gonna help you, you've gotta be out of your mind. Why the fuck should we help you? What's in it for us?"

The bitterness was still evident in his voice. Ink guessed he was still a bit salty about Error's (presumed) death.

And indeed, he was.

He had been planning to get revenge ever since he heard the news that Error was likely dead. His only reason for showing up and acting calmly was to keep Ink from suspecting anything.

"Oh, well, it's simple: NOT DYING."

"...what?"

Ink walked over until he was as close as he knew Nightmare would tolerate.

"Well, what if this happens to more universes? What if this happens to one you're in? You guys could very easily die at any moment, just like everybody else."

"..."

The group stopped looking so smug. Dust whispered something to Killer, Horror actually seemed a bit nervous, and Cross got past his ego for once.
