"I'll close up shop tonight y/n," Alex says as he's counting the money from today's earnings.

"Thanks again, Alex. You're the best." I grab the jacket Clay gave me and leave work for the day.

Nick wouldn't like that I had Clays jacket

I turn around from the direction I was going in and start my journey to Clays.

oh

um

I think it would be better to talk to him in person

I turn my phone back off and slide it into the jacket I'm trying to return.

I make it to Clays' door and knock on it. I wait a second for him to come to the door but he never does.

I decided I would just call him instead as I pull my phone out of the jacket.

"Hey!" I hear his voice come from the phone.

"Hey, dumbass. I'm outside let me in." I tell him in a sarcastic tone while laughing slightly.

"Sorry, I'm in the kitchen so I didn't hear you knock or anything." I can hear his footsteps get louder as he walks to the door.

He opens the door with the phone still held at his ear as I hang up on him and place my phone back in the pocket instinctively.

"Thanks." I step inside and start to take off the jacket to return to him.

"What you come over for?" He starts walking over to the kitchen to resume cooking.

"I came to return your jacket." I hold out the flannel jacket indicating for him to take it from me.

"I cant. It's yours now." He stays focused on the food his cooking on the stove.

"Yeah I know it's 'mine' but my boyfriend wouldnt be a fan of me wearing it home." I nudge him with the jacket insisting that he takes it back.

"fine, it'll stay at my house but it's still yours." He turns away from the stove to face me and grab the jacket.

He notices how one side of the jacket is drooping more and feels around to see what it is.

"looks like you forgot your phone." He pulls it out of the jacket pocket and starts to hand it back to me when the screen automatically lights up.

"What the hell?!" He reads the message from Nick.

I snatch the phone from his hand and it quickly turns it off.
