"Wh-who are you?" she said, as she held the knife up, threateningly

"I'm Newt. Welcome to the Glade"

Chapter 2

Third person's POV-

"Th-the Glade?" Amelia asked Newt

"Yeah Greenie, the Glade. It's our home. And now yours too" Newt told her, holding his hand out for her to get up. She dropped the knife and hesitantly took his hand. When she stood up and saw so many boys surrounding her, she quickly hid behind Newt, using him as a shield.

"Calm down. These are my friends. No need to be scared of them." After the reassurance, Amelia came forward. First Newt got out of the box, and then helped Amelia do the same. She took note of her surroundings. Green grass everywhere. Small huts were built here and there. But the most important things were the tall walls that surrounded the area. Thick ivy branches covered them from top to bottom. Alby had sent everyone back to work except for Newt, Minho and Thomas.

"Greenie, meet Alby, Minho and Thomas" he said as he introduced the boys, pointing to each one as he took their names. Amelia shook everyone's hand, smiling as she did so.

"What the hell is a greenie?" Amelia asked. Everyone chuckled, except for Thomas, who didn't seem to be too familiar with these terms either.

"It's what we call people who are new to the Glade and don't remember their names. Thomas, here, was a Greenie until you came." She nodded.

"But I remember my name." she told them.

"What is it?" Minho asked, curiously

"Amelia" she replied

"I think you guys are the only ones who didn't remember their names. Me and her did." Thomas said, trying to sound humorous but failing.

"So... does one person come here daily?" Amelia asked. She had a million questions but choose to start with this one.

"Now, you see you weren't exactly supposed to come today" Alby told her

"What does that mean?" The girl asked. This statement only caused more questions to form in her mind.

"Every month we get a new greenie. But Thomas only came yesterday. So, we weren't supposed to get another one till the next month"

"But then why would I be sent here early?"

"We don't know that. All we know is that thisprobably means the two of you are connected" Minho told her, glancing at both Amelia and Thomas.
