Harry wakes up with the smell of pancakes. He smiles and jumps out of bed.
When he comes down stairs he sees his father sitting by the kitchen table and his mum flipping over a pancake. Dad sees me and grins.
"Happy birthday," he said happily. Mum turns around and smiles. She walks over to him and hugs Harry. He hugs back.
"Happy birthday sweetheart," she whispered in his ear.
After they've eaten they get their things and walk over to the fireplace.
"I'll go first," Harry's dad said taking a jar full of what looks like ashes of the table near the fireplace. Then he lights a fire and put the ashes over it. Suddenly the fire turns green. Harry always found it very fascinating how the fire turned from orange to green. He thinks about Hogwarts and how he can't wait to learn to do magic.
Harry's dad steps into the green fire and yells ; "Diagon Alley," and he starts spin and then he disappears into the smoke. When the smoke goes away Harry's dad is gone.
"You're next," Harry's mum said, and push him lightly forward. Harry takes the jar and pour ashes over the now orange fire. It turns back to green. Harry steps into the fire. The Flames tickle him where they touch him.
"Diagon Alley," Harry yelled just like his father, and then he starts to spin. His elbows start run against the bricks inside all those wizard fireplaces. He draws his elbows against his chest.
He can see sometimes someone sitting in a chair or walking by. Finally he sees his father standing there he gets out of the fire.
Harry's dad grins and shake all the ashes from Harry's hair. Couple of minuets later Harry's mum comes out too.
"Let's just go and find Hagrid," Harry's mum said hurriedly. They start walking fast towards Gringotts. Harry looks at his parents. They are looking cautiously around. They look anxious. What's going on ?
It can't be about He- who- must- not- be- named, people hasn't seen Him since he came to kill me, Harry thought. He gets a little scared. Or is he back ?
Hagrid stands on the marble steps of Gringotts. When he sees them he smiles broadly. Harry has always looked at Hagrid as family. He is almost everyday with them. Actually this month he was with them everyday.
"Hello Harry, happy birthday," he said with an thick accent. He ruffles Harry's hair. Harry doesn't even bother smoothing it down, if anything Hagrid did was that he made Harry's hair look better.
"Thanks Hagrid," Harry said. Suddenly Hagrid starts taking stuff out of his coat that is probably made of pockets. Then Hagrid smiles even bigger.
"Close your eyes Harry," he said. Harry rolls his eyes but obeys. Hagrid puts something leathery in Harry's outstretched hands. Harry opens his eyes. In his palms is a leather bracelet with a little golden snitch. His mum helps hip put it on his wrist.
"Thanks," Harry said again, smiling.
"I made it myself,"Hagrid said "with a little help of magic" he adds, whispering.
"Hagrid, you are not supposed to do magic," Harry's mum said sternly. Her green eyes become even brighter. Harry has his mothers eyes and he is the mirror of his father.
"Come on Lilly, he did it to do a nice birthday present for Harry," Harry's dad said in an relaxed tone.
"No James, Lilly is right, I just wanted to make the best birthday present for Harry," Hagrid said sadly. Instantly Lilly face becomes more gentle and she smiles again.
