Raindrops on a Titans Shoulder
[Word count : 1573]

An attack is what kickstarted the day, Titans near the site we were training at as if they were personally sent there by someone more intelligent than them, something else controlling them and teaching them where to go.

I pulled the trigger on the blade and the metal wire shot out of my equipment directly onto a tree so I could see from higher ground what was going on and how many there really were. I was quickly ambushed so I swung down and sliced the back of their neck leaving them dead on the floor, but I couldn't see further than I could before -after the titan emitted smoke slowly as it decomposed into the ground- my team screaming below as they were able to see how many, which I imagine was many.

I swooped down towards my team and killed two Titans in one strike, proving to them my strength and power as they geared up, 4 Titans on one and in one pull of a trigger I was dragged away at my hip and killed them all.

My team was finally ready for battle so we attacked them all one by one, I was yelling out different phrases to initiate different combination attacks on the Titans, not like they would know what we were planning anyways, but it was mainly to overpower Ackermans techniques. We followed the titan chain into a small forest and started attacking at the heart of them all. Attracting them all back to the area they came from was the best thing to do, making sure none of them got away to nearby towns and homes was our number one priority and my team knew that instantly when they saw my passionate smile towards murder.

Blood splattering onto my face I laughed manically my team smiling seeing my confidence, it infinitely bringing theirs up too, they knew that If I wasn't nervous then they would be okay and that it would be a job easily done by the best.

I attacked another, an abnormal running directly at me, lifting a few 4 metre tall titans towards me with great strength as if they were improvising after watching the use of our gear. I pulled back slightly, shocked to which some of my team doubted and pulled away in instinct after I did too. Watching them start to adapt techniques. "They're strategising." I mumbled and my team nodded, "we're going to have to work harder. The smart ones need to be dead. I don't want to see a titan in this forest alive." I instructed and my team yelled in unison, strong voices Unwavered by physical labour, not yet.

We flew back down and attacked in unison, getting 7 out at the same time covering ourselves in blood and steam, which helped us blend in with the corpses and made it easier to manoeuvre around the ones that were alive. They couldn't smell us either as long as we were covered.

But I let my guard down.

A hand was reaching towards me from behind. I span around and saw another abnormal, I sliced the fingers off for defence then I saw the body drop dead next to me.

Ackerman. Standing on the head of the body staring down at me. He rolled his eyes at my angry glare to prove that him saving my life wasn't needed, I didn't need his help at all. The blood steamed off my face as I saw a bright yellow light. "Jaeger that idiot, I said not to transform this time." Ackerman groaned and flew away in seconds not bothering to tease me as he had more important matters at hand.

I stood confidently and continued to murder each titan I saw, no struggle ahead of me as I had just been taunted by my enemy, pissing me off to the point all I could do was think of murdering out of frustration.

A large one, another abnormal almost as tall as eren when in his titan form has approached. Maybe that was the one that instructed them all to come our way. The titan yelled inhumanely, I watched all of the two of our teams cover their ears while in the air, feeling vulnerable by the shriek my protective instincts initiated.

I flew over and sliced into its vocal chords, quickly pulling away as it reached for me. Then I watched as Ackerman targeted a tree above me to come my way, wielding his sword with a grunt he slit the arms of the titan and I followed with my own plan, creating an X as we flew past each other I slit the ankles of the titan. He flew left and I flew right crossing each other in a line, listening to the Titans attempt to scream without its vocal chords.

Two genres colliding. Classical and neat pinned to Levi Ackerman and something loud and aggressive labelled towards me, creating a harmony we never thought would sound any good but the way our metal chords seemed to avoid each other as if we strategised our attacks together is what made it look so magical.

We both pinned opposite trees, jumping out to attack the nape of the neck at the same time.

Our wires colliding, twisting in circles, falling raindrops from the sky, colliding at the last moment, Raindrops on a Titans shoulder, to kill the titan at the same time, cutting a chunk of the neck out of it, watching the rest of the body drop to the floor.

We tried pulling away but our wires wouldn't let us, we collided into each other, him opening his arms as not to stab me with the swords while I dropped my own into the holsters in time.

Hung in the air we pull away. Him letting go first and letting himself drop from the trees, like a raindrop, almost hitting the floor so that the wires untangled before he pulled them back. I made my way down slowly, killing the last few Titans alone while he scolded the titan boy for transforming without his permission.

I made my way to the floor and started heading back with the new information about the Titans new ability to strategise. "Your moves were slacking (Last/Name). You're the reason we collided at the end." His deep voice cut through the atmosphere, "excuse me Mr perfect you weren't so great either, I'm the one who ended up finishing the titan off."
"Hah, you think that was you? Why else are my swords more destroyed than yours.. and you've been here longer than us too."
I was speechless, I had no idea what to reply, I knew I had used two of my blades but no words came out when he mentioned them, "that just proves who's the best." He finished and my face burned red in anger, I wielded my sword and pointed it directly at him, his team stepping back in fear but his body was unmoved.

We both pulled away because our teams were afraid, and head towards the showers back at the main scouts training area. Avoiding each other the whole time, knowing that if we came in contact it would turn into a fight of some sort, I scrambled on my boots the fastest once showering was over, to regain my height against him, knowing I'm actually smaller intimidates me but not when I have the small advantage.

We walked out of the showers, our teams eating lunch so we planned to join them in separate rooms. However something stopped us, we heard a conversation.

Commander Erwin was talking out a strategic plan for our two teams, to send us all our beyond the walls after finding out information recently, a map found with different checkpoints where past scouts have failed and died on the mission there apparently it was important to find new information, and that the journey was necessary either now with the two powerful leaders or in later years.

I pushed open the door and he pushed the other, both of us ending up thinking the same thoughts, our matching uniforms contradicting our opposing personalities. "We can't do that." We both yelled in unison and The commander smiled, "That's the first thing you've both ever agreed on." He joked and we kept serious, hoping to persuade his views in the opposite direction.

"Leading our teams out there? We don't even know what's out there, I'm not willing to let my team die all because of the unknown. I can fend for myself. So just send me." I instructed, standing forward saluting to the commander hoping that by seeming heroic he would agree to let it happen. "Can fend for yourself but not your team." Ackerman pointed out part of my statement to piss me off and I glared him down, "Are you calling me weak?"
"I could be." His unbothered gaze away from me just angered me even more that I couldn't hold my mouth in front of the commander,
"you assho-"

"Enough. I'll send you two instead, the risk of loosing other important teammates because of limited rations as well as the dangers out there isn't necessary." We both clenched our fists in frustration opening our mouthed to speak out against it, "You two are strong and can survive on your own. So I'm sending you two."

"But-" we yelled in unison.

"No complaints."
