We turned off our smiles, I couldn't smile any more, I was losing my reason to smile completely all because of others and pressure and professionalism too. I sat on the horse and they held the reigns while walking beside me, leading the horse over to the same place we left out of, slowly walking, not having any motivation at all to be excited that we were free from each other, if anything we felt more free WITH each other.

We entered and saw the streets lined with people, clapping and cheering that we made it home without a scratch or bruise at all, a little less supplies and a heart empty of all love, but we came back in one piece. Everyone congratulated us, kids cheering begging to learn our names, teenagers cockily wishing they were in our place saying they had the same strength to travel to a world of titans like we had.

Then my eyes settled on scouts in our uniform, my team and theirs mixed in a large group as happy as we were when we were free together, Hange waving at me with excitement as well as the young titan boy Eren amazed to see me back from such a dangerous world that he saw was impossible to survive in. I looked down at them for a split second and noticed they were waving at their team excitedly, acting as if nothing had ever happened at all, but I saw the pain in their cheeks that they couldn't, I saw that they were hiding their sadness with excitement to be home.

I approached the teams and they all saluted us and we nodded in their direction, "Levi you HAVE to tell me about everything you saw out there god I wish I had went with you! I could've seen titans on a different level! Did you bring some home with you? Are there any new types we've never seen. Before?" Hange was already rambling to me as the teams joins the two of us, but we weren't ready to go separate ways, so we continued together with our teams joining us, all the way back to speak to commander Erwin about what we had learned about all the dangers out there.

We couldn't look each other in the eye, in fact we purposely avoided it, not to prove our hate but so we didn't hurt any more than we already did, I wasn't riding the horse with them and it felt horrible without their warmth joining me.

Crowds around us and I felt more alone than I ever had before. It's because they weren't mine anymore.. they were their teams, they were whoever decided to finally make a move on them unlike me who couldn't even propose a relationship towards them..

We made our way to the scouts training area, taking the horse to a place where it could test for a while, not leaving each other's sides, but not talking either, talking would hurt even more because I know I wouldn't be able to tell them something nice about them or complain that they're not closer to me.. I couldn't hold in those words if they were to speak to me.. and I knew they felt the same, that's why they refuse to stand so close to me in the hallways as we made our way up to the commanders office area Hange still rambling on in my ear until we finally arrived at the room and Erwin refused to let her enter.

"Tell me it all, all the new things you saw, all the new information you gathered. This is between us.." he stated secretly and we sat in a seat next to each other, unable to move away, they attempted to speak to him first but I cut them off rudely. I had urge to apologise but I couldn't do that here, I couldn't tell them they could speak first I just had to continue and stand my ground, even if it hurts me.. even if it hurts them.

"I marked most things we explored on the unfinished map you had given us. Most of the checkpoints were empty of all titans, any lost gear was found but it was completely broken and wasn't in any condition to re-use so we left it all out there." I stated and kept quiet, giving them the opportunity to speak without actually offering actively.

"New information we gathered about the titans was that they travel in groups, almost as if they're small tribes. We were attacking some and noticed they were thinking in defence rather than to eat us, as if they were protecting their tribe and their home. I was thinking maybe there's someone out there, something out there. Controlling them, telling them to attack, giving them these urges to eat and eat and eat until there's none of us left." They rambled on passionately, I loved when they did that, they couldn't hold back any words and they let it all out at once, I got to hear the passion in their vocal chords when speaking about what we uncovered.
"Some also seemed to strategise. We only saw abnormals out there, none with predictable activity that were worthy to kill." I ended the statement for them and they glanced at me for a second and I recognised that I had stolen something they wanted to say. I wanted to apologise. I really did but I couldn't.

"That's actually fascinating, I want you two to write down your experiences separately, and work out some things more about the map Levi." He pointed an extra job at me and attempted to dismiss us but more things kept popping into his mind.

"Im proud of you two. You haven't argued since you've arrived and im extremely impressed. Are you finally getting along?" He teased the both of us, making the environment less professional and more friendly. "It's easier to stay silent than to converse with an idiot." I stated, clearly teasing them to which they burned up in anger, "Says you." They reply which causes me to roll my eyes at such an immature use of retaliation.

"You're such a brat." I teased, knowing they had previously begged me to call me that while we were having sex and I knew that bringing it uo would make them even madder. They blushed at the statement but blew it off as being angry by cursing me for being so immature. Then we started to walk off Into the hallway, dismissing ourselves while arguing and dumbly name calling each other.

"Asshole."
"Dickhead."
"Child."
"You're the one who's shorter than me."
"Take off your boots I dare you." They raised a fist at me and I caught it and tried to throw them to the ground knowing they intended it all playfully, then guards pulled us apart from each other suspecting things would get even worse than just a few punches.

I gave them an angry glare, "I love you." I mumbled pretending to insult them as we walked off down the hallway, they blushed and smiled, no one was able to see it though so they let the blush take over their face, "I love you too." They replied and I had some pink rise to my cheeks too.

We walked in opposite directions. Maybe being home wasn't going to be so bad.. after all, they were here with me.
