All the way Serkan did not give me a single clue as to where we were going, despite my insistence. He just told me that it was a very "me" place and that I would love it. I was looking at the signs trying to figure it out, and we were in the Besiktas district. I had a hunch that perhaps he would take me to the National Palaces Painting Museum, very close to where we were, or maybe we would go to the Dolmabahçe palace. The truth is that wherever it was, I would have loved it. I love every single place in Istanbul, it's a city that grabs you and never ceases to amaze you.
To my surprise, Serkan parked in front of a large yellow painted archway, on which was painted a sign with "Yildiz Parki" written on it. At that moment I remembered a conversation I had with Serkan, he was telling me that it was impossible that I had not visited that special park, and that one day he would take me there.
- I wasn't expecting this Serkan, I'm ecstatic that you finally brought me here. - I closed the car door, walked towards him, and hugged him with all my strength.
- I hope that you like it as much as I do. – He answered me with an unmistakable happiness smile that I haven't seen in months.
He then took a picnic basket that he had put in the car without me noticing.
- Are you telling me that I'm going to see you eating in the grass? – I joked.
- I'm willing to do whatever it takes to see you happy Eda...
I helped him with the basket. We walked through a long path that crossed the huge park from south to north. Serkan's aim was to reach the top of the hill, where the Yildiz Palace Museum was located, but his terrible illness meant that we had to stop numerous times until we decided not to continue.
We crossed over a bridge to a large waterfall. At that moment I remembered how happy we were in Antalya, and that culmination at the Düden waterfall, where one of the best nights of my life came to an end. There, my feelings for Serkan began to surface, although to be honest, I would say that those feelings were already there from the day I met him.
We chose a secluded spot, surrounded by magnolia trees with a characteristic pink colour that I had never seen before. In addition, there were hundreds of carnations of different colours all around us, which made us forget for a moment the dark moment we were living. We spread out a red and white chequered tablecloth, a cliché. And from the basket he began to take out sandwiches and snacks, which, surprisingly, he had cooked himself without Seyfi's help. Finally, he brought out two glasses along with a bottle of wine. He had prepared everything to perfection. It was just him and me, surrounded by greenery and unique flowers and two glasses of wine.
What more could I ask for?
