"Areum noona! Kotone nee-chan is playing the big piano!" Chiwon suddenly jumps up from his seat and hugged Areum's legs.
"Good evening, noona." Jungwoo poked her hand as she sluggishly walks towards them after a good 3-hour stream.
"I just borrowed them for a bit..." Kotone timidly said as she stands from her seat, the other boys clinging onto her.
"Oh, its okay. You play the piano?" Areum asks the owner of the house, Kotone.
"Yeah... but I haven't played on this piano for so long because it's... too big, I guess." Kotone pointed at the centerpiece of the downstairs living room, the grand piano.
Kotone is one of Maris' dearest friends and now roommate. She's an established rich kid with a large house, big backyard and even a separate medium-sized house for her instruments and producing studio.
Even if her stuff is worth to look at, there's more to the owner than meets the eye.
So, how did Kotone and Maris find out about Areum's crisis?
Gaeun was passing by and was going to visit Areum when she saw their house on fire. She called the fire department then called the two to help the Jeon family.
Why did Kotone allow them to stay there for the mean time? The house is too big for someone as small and usually alone as Kotone. Maris is sometimes out of the country because of her family while Gaeun works far from Seoul so for the majority of a year, she's alone in the large house.
At least she knows how to not get bored.
"Do you usually have guests around?" Areum asked as Kotone offered to prepare coffee for both of them while watching the kids play and watch TV.
"No. Just Gaeun, Maris, and one of my best friends." She replied as she poured a cup of coffee for Areum, thanking her gift after.
"By the way, thank you for letting me borrow your PC." Areum then continued their conversation. "Its great help especially when... I can't move that much." She said as she did a hand wave.
Kotone smiled sweetly. "No problem. And also, it's okay for you guys to stay as long as you want to. I don't mind." She relayed, making Areum feel conflicted.
"Why?" Areum tilted her hand in doubt.
"Having company is not that bad, whether it's one person or seven." Kotone chuckled at the sudden cheesy remark from her own mouth.
Areun and Kotone take time to drink their coffee while watching the kids playing.
"By the way, what do you do for work?" Areum suddenly asks Kotone in a quiet tone.
"Me? I'm just a translator for various people, mainly online authors." Kotone answered, making Areum lightly nod.
"How about you?"
"I'm a backup dancer for Seventeen." Areum admitted.
Areum doesn't usually say who she's a backup dancer for but assuming that Kotone most likely worked with idols, it didn't worry her that much.
What she didn't expect was Kotone had her eyes widened for at least 3 seconds, Areum immediately noticing it.
Instincts of someone who gets stared a lot...
"You work for Seventeen?" Kotone asked in a surprised but quiet tone. Areum just nodded awkwardly.
"Eh? You work for Seventeen, Kotone?" Areum had her eyes now wide open.
"Sometimes, yeah..." Kotone then lightly scratched her nape. "... its a small world, isn't it?"
They both chuckled and sipped more of their coffee until it was finished.
"That's how you met Maris too?" Kotone then asked about Maris and Areum nodded in reply.
"She made me comfortable with them. I used to not be comfortable with eyes watching me too intently." Areum confessed and Kotone quickly agreed with nodding her head.
"Are you friends with any of them?" Kotone asks her out of curiosity.
Areum nods. "Hoshi, Wonwoo and Mingyu. It's probably because were the same age... except for Mingyu." Kotone nodded.
"Now that I think of it..." Kotone then pondered. "I hear about you from Wonwoo a lot."
Areum suddenly looked at her, a little bit dumbfounded.
"What do you mean?"
"You're player 2, right?"
"... yeah, but I am totally against that nickname."
"I can tell." She chuckled. "Wonwoo was always cautious when he calls you by that nickname."
Areum can't help but get curious with what Wonwoo told Kotone, which she got caught up immediately.
"He didn't tell anything bad or controversial about you, don't worry. He just told me basic stuff like your hobbies and your interests. That's all." Kotne then elaborated, making Areum sigh in relief.
Their talk got interrupted when the door bell started ringing. Kotone excused herself to answer it when Areum suddenly heard screams from upstairs.
Areum slowly puts down her ceramic cup and ran upstairs.
"Why? What happened?" She opened the door to see Gaeun and Sowon looking at something from Areum's phone.
"Hey! Who told you to look at my phone?" She immediately snatched it from their hands with their faces still snickering and red from blushing too much.
"Dude... how are you friends with two really good looking guys?" Sowon asked.
"Yeah and it's MinWon? Literally one of the best duos CARATs has ever seen." Gaeun exclaimed, exaggerating a little bit.
"How do you survive with both of them looking at you simultaneously? I would have a heart attack in an instant." Sowon exclaimed next, making Areum chuckle.
"I actually don't know. I mean, yeah they're really handsome especially in person but... we work together. Besides, I have to be professional or else I'll get kicked out." Areum explained.
She won't deny it but there are times where her heart seems like it would be beating out of her chest.
There were times when Wonwoo whispers to her or do small gestures like accidentally touching hands to catching her before she fell face first on the floor when the Hip Hop team were learning the choreography.
Areum doesn't mind since she thinks it's natural but she can't help but think that there is a possibility that she might slip and confess to Wonwoo.
Kotone from downstairs then called them all for dinner. It seemed like she ordered food for all of them.
Areum's parents weren't around because they were clearing out their old house and see if there were any left items they can salvage.
The 4 of them with the kids bond over food and the two continued to tease Areum. It seems like she found another family to bond with.
