The 3 hours just flew by.

We've been talking non-stop about totally random topics. But we haven't talked about our personal life. I mean I'm not mad about it. But I haven't even got his name. He said he's going to San Francisco too, I want to meet him again. I already want to talk to him again, talk to him again. So freely. Not having to worry about him knowing my past, pitying me.

I actually felt alright next to him. I don't care if we met only 3 hours ago, I consider him as a friend.

"Passengers for Flight TH 723 to San Franciso, please go to Gate 5." Announced a voice.

I get up and stretch a little bit. I start walking when I look behind me to see the man is still sitting there.

"Aren't you gonna come?" I ask.

"I have the next flight." He says in a sad tone while rubbing his neck with his left hand.

"O-Oh..." I whisper to myself, kind of disappointed. I take a breath. "Can I at least get your name? Maybe we'll meet again!" I give him a sad smile. I don't dare to ask for his phone number. I mean what if he doesn't want to meet again?

He gets up from his position and comes to me. He holds out his hand.

"My name is Wilbur Soot. Yours?"

"Y/n L/n." I shake his hand. "It was nice meeting you, Mr Soot!"

"You too, Ms L/n." We both let out a little giggle. " Have a good and safe flight."

"Same goes to you." I wave him last time and walk off to my gate.

After a few minutes, I was on the plane and soon found my seat too. The flight attendants showed how and what to do and don't. The more I heard, the more I thought about what I am actually doing.

I'm actually leaving this hellhole. For forever! I should be happy... But I have mixed feelings. I'm scared of what will happen next, but at the same time, I finally feel alive. I know no one (who knew me) would ever think of me getting on a plane and never coming back. It'd just sound crazy to them. But I proved everyone wrong.

And now I can restart. I can have a new, normal life. The one that I always wanted.
