Once they started walking Ivy paused, actually let's go to the pier, it's such a nice afternoon." Owen didn't object, so they walked down to the pier together. As they got to the pier, the sun was setting a soft pink haze over the water and they both took a seat at the edge with their feet dangling over. They didn't say anything, instead they watched birds swoop over the water and listened to the waves lap against the pier. Ivy sighed and placed her head against Owen;s shoulder. Owen didn't say anything but just put his arm around hers. After a while Ivy looked up and giggled, Owen looked over to her in confusion, "What?" She poked his nose, "I think you are already getting your summer burn." Owen put his hand to his nose and could feel that it was slightly warm, "No way, I'm not that pale." Ivy laughed again, "I mean you're definitely on the lighter side, even for a white person." She stretched out and flipped her hair. Owen smiled and pushed her shoulder, "Oh whatever." At that moment Ivy's phone buzzed and she took it out to look at it. "The others are at a party by the old wishing well. You wanna join?" Owen looked at her and shrugged, "Do you wanna go?" She looked at him like he had some type of memory loss, "It's a party, of course I want to go." Owen smiled and stood, he held out a hand for her, she smiled and took it, "Always such a gentleman." Owen answered back, "Of course."
The party was only a 10 minute walk from the pier. The wishing well sat at the very edge of town along with the dilapidated house that used to belong to somebody. It was deserted a long time ago, making it the perfect spot for parties and bonfires.
The two continued walking as the sun continued to go down. "Hey Ivy, can I ask you something?" Ivy looked over at Owen and noticed the sad look on his face, "Yeah, what's up?" He rubbed the back of his neck and hesitated to say his next words, "Do you think Faye will tell Leo how she feels?" A realization dawned on Ivy, and she suddenly felt bad, "I'm not sure. Knowing Faye probably not." Owen nodded but didn't say anything else.
