Seagulls screeched by while cool summer heat rolled through the stuffy windows of Well-pine high school.

"Ms. Jennings, what is the answer to question five?" Faye, who was currently watching a fly drone through the classroom, returned her attention to the front. "I'm sorry, could you repeat that," she asked sheepishly. Obviously annoyed at Faye's absent mind, Me. Harold repeated his question, "what did you get for number five?"
Faye roved over her paper for the answer, embarrassed she was caught drifting again. "I got 36 for the answer." Mr. Harold wrote it on the board and turned back to Faye, "That is correct, but pay better attention please." He scanned the room for his next victim and found another student who was gazing outside. "Mr. Harding, what is the answer for number six?" Leo now took his turn of suddenly returning his attention back to the front, but he smiled, "Mr. Harold, with all due respect, it's the last day of school and I don't find any of this to be of importance to me." The class stifled a laugh, but instead of getting angry, Mr. Harold just sighed, "Johnson, what about you?" Owen, who had been paying attention the whole time answered, "49, sir."
Just as the answer was about to be written on the board, the bell rang and everyone scrambled to get out of the door.
Leo sauntered up to Faye, "Glad to know I'm not the only one who doesn't pay attention," he smirked while pushing her shoulder. Faye rolled her eyes and shoved back, "Hey, I least I answered."
Owen joined them at the door, while a voice behind them said, "It's not like this is new information, you two never pay attention." They all turned, and Leo put his arm around the dark haired girl, "Oh Eden, don't act like you're above us now, I saw you doodling on your desk." Eden rolled her eyes but smiled along with the rest of the group.
"Hey, Ivy just texted me, she's waiting out front for us," Faye announced. The group turned to go, but at the last moment Leo stuck his head back through the classroom door and smiled at his teacher, "Have a great summer Mr. Harold!" Mr. Harold looked up from his desk and looked to Leo with disdain, "Please leave my classroom Mr. Harding."
