Davids POV
I looked at the activities on the clipboard to do to end off the week,

Fishing
Swimming
Hike
Felid trip - was canceled :(
Hide and seek in the woods

I looked at the last activity for today, it sounds fun! I got up and walked out waking the campers. Moments later Gwen was next to me and the campers stood in front of me tired but some had smiles on their faces at least! "Alright campers, today we will be doing hide and seek but its in the woods!" I said in my normal cheery voice, "all of you guys will hide while me and Gwen will try to find you guys, one of the only rules is don't go too far!" I smiled at the campers who all seemed more interested now, except for of course, max and Neil. Max rolled his eyes.
Maxs POV
I rolled my eyes at the cheery idiot, David, who was in front of me and the others along with Gwen. She looked at David a little concerned, "are you sure this is safe David? I don't think its the best idea for a camp activity.' She asked and David looked back at her, "of course its safe Gwen! They aren't allowed to go too far and it probably won't take long to find them" he responded then looked back at us, "Now, you guys can go and hide and me and Gwen will be in the counselors cabin counting!" Me and Neil stayed together walking into the woods and the others scattered while David and Gwen walked into the counselors cabin, i looked at Neil, "you almost done with the time machine?" I asked "oh yeah, I actually finished right when David woke us up, once this fuck up of a camp activity is over I'll show you" Neil said. "Cool, see ya after this shitty activity." I said and separated from Neil, i walked far into the woods even though David said not to but fuck his dumbass rules right? I walked over to a tree that had a sharp ass stick pointing up from the ground right in front of the tree, I avoided it and climbed the tree, sitting on a branch. The clouds got dark and it started to rain, well shit. I looked Down to see where the last branch was to see it wasn't there anymore, the other branches were on the ground, i was stuck. I stood up slowly and grabbed the next and last branch above me holding on tight as the branch below me that i was just sitting on broke and fell. I heard David yelling for the campers to go back inside since it was raining, the branch i held tight onto was breaking. I screamed for help unsure if anyone could hear me due to how deep i was in the woods and the sound of the rain, fuckfuckfuck fuck. The branch gave up and fully broke making me fall as i screamed as loud as i could before i felt a sharp pain in my stomach and chest as i fell on the ground, my eyes felt heavy and my vision was blurry, loud footsteps and light ringing was all i could hear.
David's POV
I called for the campers to come out of their hiding spots since it started pouring rain, the campers came back and Gwen took them back inside. I noticed one thing as i walked into the mess hall, max wasn't there. I walked back outside and in the woods to look for max when i heard a scream for help from a voice that i was sure belonged to max, i ran to where i heard the scream. When i got close there were spots of blood, i looked over to see max on the ground, a stick going through his stomach and blood all over his body, it was spewing from his stomach and mouth. I screamed for Gwen as i went down to my knees looking at max, his eyes were barely open as he turned his head to me, "don't close your eyes." I said as Gwen got to us, "Holy shit!" She said quickly taking out her phone since mine was in the counselors cabin, she called 911 as i sobbed not wanting to lose max. He was like a son to me, ever since the start of camp he's grown and since parents day I've been thinking about adopting him at the end of camp since his parents didn't seem to care much for max.
