Sneak peak into my newest story: Saviour

Chapter One (Partial):

Screech!

Screech!

I slam my hand down on my god awful alarm clock. I really need to get a new, less annoying one. I groan as I stretch my muscles like a cat before sitting up in bed. I yawn and look around my small, bare room.

I take a quick shower and let my wavy hair dry. I put on my light blue ripped jeans and a black hoodie. I slip on my high top converse and grab my car keys before walking out of my bedroom.

I walk into the kitchen to see John standing at the counter, sipping his coffee.

"Hey kiddo, are you ready for school?" He inquires.

"Yup, I am just grabbing some toast for breakfast. Is there enough coffee for me?" I ask hopefully.

"Yes, here," he hands me a cup, "I made it just the way you like it."

I chuckle, "I drink black coffee John."

"Exactly, I never mess it up," he laughs before he goes all serious. Oh no. "I want to speak with you about something after school. Can you come straight home after?"

I nod and grab my toast before heading out the door to my car. He wants to talk?

I walk into home room and take my seat at the back of the class by the window. I lay my head down on the table and close my eyes to wait until class starts.

"Asherah. Asherah. Asherah!" I hear someone yell and my head lifts off the desk quickly.

"Yeah?" I respond.

"You were asleep. You need to pay attention young lady," Ms. Reid tells me. I nod my head, internally rolling my eyes.

"Hey Cress," I greet.

"Hey, what's bothering you?"

I smile shaking my head slightly at my best friend. She always knows when something so up. As I think about what I will tell her, my smile drops.

"Let's get lunch first," I tell her.

"Okay."

I grab some pasta while Cress gets a slice of pizza. We walk over to our secluded table in the back and sit across from each other. I still can't shake the feeling that I am being watched.

"So, tell Dr. Cress what's going on," Cress tells me. Ever since I met her almost a year ago, she has been like my free therapist and she calls herself a doctor.

"John said he needs to talk with me after school," I sadly say.

"What?" Cress whispers. "Doesn't that usually mean...?"

Chapter Two (Partial):

"He is new and Cress is swooning," I giggle.

"Oh god, Cress seems to be swooning over a new guy every few weeks nowadays. When is she going to build up the courage to ask one of them out?"

"I really don't know. Any who, when will dinner be ready?" I ask as a ding goes off from the stove.

"Right now," John replies as he removes the dish of homemade lasagna from the oven.

"Wow, John, this is your best one yet," I compliment.

"Thanks Ash, I am glad you like it. I have something to give you."

I give him a curious look as he slides a folded piece of paper across the table. I reach for it and open it up. I begin reading and tears come to my eyes.

"Thank you," I whisper to him.

I am walking with Cress into the woods in my cute light green dress with black boots on my feet. I let my blonde hair flow down my shoulders in natural beach waves.

She insists that she pulled it off and threw a party for me. I still don't believe her, I mean how can I? Within three hours, I am supposed to believe that she got a whole wack of people to attend and music and food AND drinks? No way

As we get closer to the clearing, I can hear music blasting in the woods. As it gets louder, I can make out some conversations between people. Weird. We are still pretty far, how can I hear them talking? I shake the thought off when we emerge into the clearing and my mouth opens in shock. She did it.

"How did you manage to do this?" I voice my thoughts.

"I told you I would so I pulled through," Cress smiles triumphantly.

Chapter Three (Partial):

Suddenly, the wolf is gone and he is back, butt naked. I keep my eyes glued to his eyes.

"Could you throw on some clothes?" I ask, clearing my voice of emotion.

"Oh, am I making the little saviour uncomfortable?" He taunts.

I roll my eyes, "Put on some damn clothes and stop calling me that."

"Calling you what? Why would I stop calling you that when it is what you are," He chuckles as he begins putting in his pants and shirt.

What I am? Saviour of what?

"When are you going to let me go?" I wonder and I surprisingly keep my voice steady despite the terror coursing through my body right now.

"What makes you think that I will ever let you go? The dark needs you to win against the light and that is exactly what you are going to do."
