There standing before Johnny was a man who was probably in his mid twenties. Dark brown hair, deep blue eyes, slightly paled skin, and darkened bags under his eyes. He had a neatly shaven chin strap of a beard and wore a sorrowful expression. The man had on a grayish colored hat, a matching coat, brown work gloves, dark gray pants, and brown boots covered in mud.
Johnny stood there in his future coffin while the man dropped the shovel he carried and went over to him. The man grabbed a note pad and pen from nowhere and began writing a few things down. He then grabbed a tape measure and began measuring the coffin itself. Johnny waited as he wrote some things down. As soon as the man finished, he put his notepad and pen in his coat pocket carefully as stood in front of Johnny again.
They seemed to stare at each other for a while, he didn't say anything until Johnny began to say something but was cut off by the man. "What do you want to say on your obituary, Mr. Danielson?" The man asked and Johnny looked at him confused. "Pardon?" Johnny asked. Surely this was some sort of joke to him.
"Your obituary, sir." The man said. "You'd probably want something to say before you go." He finished as he looked deeply into Johnny's eyes.
He felt nervous and his breath shake. "All silent and no talk huh? Fine with me, I can make one for you." The man continued and took out his notepad again.
"Johnny Elmore Danielson Jr., known for his petty crimes, he was cared about being brought in to the police for what he did. Killing little children, raping poor young girls, robbing graves, and stealing from the poor. No one will care surely now that he's gone and dead." He paused and looked up almost smiling at him.
"But am I right?" The man asked and Johnny looked at him in disbelief, how had he known about his criminal records? Was he a cop himself going undercover?
The man cleared his throat as put the notepad away once more and walked over to the front door. "By the way Mr. Danielson, I'm a junior myself from my father. I'm Cameron." The man said tilting his hat, he grabbed his shovel from the floor and walked out. Leaving Johnny alone once again to contemplate his life and think about an escape plan.
