All over there had been cops going around the property of the funeral home and cemetery. All Cameron could do was watch, he knew they'd find the buried grave robbers eventually.
He saw one group getting close to the grave he had done a few weeks ago with that nasty man he dealt with. Cameron quickly rushed on out, adjusting the formal attire he wore for business and approached the cops.
"No no, I know there's something here!" One cop with a perm of hair exclaimed and there were mutters among the group. "Nothing looks weird to me." Said another one of the group members. All had left the grave but two cops.
Both were ladies, one with a determined look and a ponytail while the other looked like she was afraid of her own shadow with cropped brunette hair.
"Pardon me, ladies," Cameron said finally speaking up, the cops looked at him. "Where did you come from?" The determined cop asked and Cameron pointed to his family's funeral home. The cop's eyes widened, "you're a Hepster aren't you?" She asked and Cameron nodded. "Do you know what's going on here? Reports of screams were heard in this cemetery last night." The cop said and her partner let out a shiver, Cameron shook his head. "I dismissed it as wild animals." He claimed and the cop nodded back. "Hey Debra! Amy! You should see this!" said a cop as he threw a shovel aside. The two cops and Cameron went on over, a grave had been uncovered.
Cameron's eyes widened in astonishment, it was that cruel bastard Johnny Danielson. He was still alive surprisingly, the male cop managed to pry apart the coffin with a crowbar and threw the lid aside.
Johnny sat there shaking, he was badly bruised and had eyes to prove the lack of sleep. "Ain't he the one we're looking for?" The one named Debra asked. "Sure is." Replied the male cop as he took out a piece of paper from his pocket that showed Johnny's face in perfect detail.
"Take him to the cab, we'll deal with him later." A sheriff ordered as a cop hand cuffed him and brought Johnny to the cruiser.
Cameron kept his composure calm, he didn't want to attract suspicion nor arouse any more curiosity. So he stood there pretending to be worried, "is he okay?" He asked, cringing at his own words. That monster was meant to stay put but the cops just couldn't mind their own business.
Debra went up to him, "Don't worry Mr. Hepster, he'll be fine. Something or someone traumatized him badly. Do you have anyone else working on the premises?" She asked, Cameron nearly froze but he took a deep breath as he looked her. She looked curious as she waited for an answer.
"Hey Officer Merich! Over here, I think Mr. Danielson is trying to say something!" A colleague called out and Debra shook her head. "Never mind," she said to Cameron. "What is it?!" She called back, walking over to the cruiser where Johnny was at.
Cameron walked over to where Johnny was at, his lips trembling like crazy as the cops sat around. One with a notepad and the other with a voice recorder. "Go on, tell us what happened." The cop with the voice recorder said. "I-I s-s-saw a-a man, I-I-I think he was the un-undertaker of this pl-place." Trembled Johnny as he began to cry. "Y-you shouldn't get involved! You're mad to try and deal with him!" He finished and cried some more.
The cops all talked amongst themselves and the deputy whistled to get everyone's attention. "Look I suggest we look some more and then we can send a team out later tonight to try and find something here!" He said and the cops all muttered in agreement. "Officer Merich and Officer Darren." He pointed to Debra and Amy.
After the cops split up Debra went to find Cameron, who sat on a bench looking worried. "Are you okay Mr. Hepster?" She asked and he quickly looked up. "Oh yeah I'm fine I'm just...." he paused, what should he say?
Debra didn't wait for an answer, instead she walked on over to a shed and Cameron hopped on up, trailing after her.
Debra pulled the door open and walked inside, she was facing an empty casket. "What's this for?" She asked as Cameron walked in behind her. "I usually keep spares in the shed. That there is a gold lined casket; oak, weighing 200 pounds at least, the inside lined with silk and white cotton cushioning. At least 78 by 26 inches." He said and Debra looked him almost impressed. "You know all of that?" She asked and he shrugged.
"Yeah my pa taught us the materials and measurements for the standard casket." He said and Debra smiled slightly.
"That's pretty neat that's for sure." She said suddenly Amy called for her to get back to the cruiser so they can report back to the station through the walkie talkie Debra had.
"I have to go, but I hope everything will be alright." She waved at Cameron and he waved back. Absently looking back at the casket with ease.
