It had been a couple days since I had seen anyone besides Deran, apparently Smurf had kicked him out and he was done with her. I didn't see any point in going back not after my own fight with Smurf and not without Deran, I guess everyone knew that.

I was walking along the beach with Deran and another surf friend of ours, laughing at Deran shaking my head. We had been surfing pretty much the entire time we had been away and it felt reliving to be.

"Oh shit." Deran says making me frown seeing him look someplace else, I followed where he was looking seeing Baz a bit away watching us.

"Jesus Christ." I muttered as I sighed pursing my lips.

"He called. What was I gonna say?" Kate says from the other side of Deran making the both of us shake our head. I nodded my head for Deran to walk over as Kate walks off, we got closer and Baz meets us in the middle.

"Where the hell you two been?"

"Oh, I've been busy." Deran stated looking his brother dead in the eye making Baz looking at me.

"And you?"

"Oh same but also, not giving a flying fuck." I said smiling up at him making him scoff lightly shaking his head.

"Can't answer your phone?"

"I thought we already established I didn't give a fuck."

"Let me guess, you caved huh?" Deran says cutting in and Baz doesn't say anything making us sigh.

"Smurf's right on this one. Running the small jobs on the side it ain't worth the risk. It's just not."

"Pussies."

"It's time to come home."

"It's time? Oh so Smurf says we can work again and we just jump right to it? What?" Deran says shaking his head not looking at Baz.

"I know she's been riding you. I get it, I get that you want to punish her but this whole routine is getting a little old don't you think?" Baz says looking at Deran who looks at him shaking his head.

"Nah man. You know what? I'm done. I'm sick of her shit. I can't take it anymore...I'm sorry man." Deran says walking off to the group who was waiting for us, I pursed my lips as Baz looks at me.

"Oh let me guess, you have something to say to me too?"

"What are you even angry at Smurf for? Just because Deran says so?"

"No Baz, because unlike you I don't go back crawling to mummy when she says it's okay."

"You know the only person he's going to listen to is you."

"And what Baz? You want me to tell him it's alright? For us to go back to being yelled at?" I said narrowing my eyes at him.

"Okay I get that but what now? You going to go into hiding with Deran, get off your meds again." Baz says and I clenched my jaw as I dryly chuckle looking at him.

"You sound just like her, you know? How does it feel to be under her thumb? You don't be careful Baz and you're going to turn out exactly like her."

"Watch it."

"You can leave me the fuck alone and tell Smurf that too because I'm tired of being treated like a fucking basket case that you're all waiting for me to explode. Did you ever take a step back and think the only reason I'm doing that is because of where I am, huh?" I said looking at him clenching my jaw before turning to walk away from him. Deran was waiting for me with the group, once I reached him he looks at me concerned.
