I woke up the next morning feeling a little dizzy but It's bearable unlike the last time I had a hangover. Unfamiliarity welcomed my sight. Ate Karla smiled at me, I returned it with a shy one. Nakakahiya pa kasi naabutan niya akong kagigising lang. I felt awkward and shy of how I looked, while she's already dolled up early in the morning."Good morning, beaut!"her eyes immediately lit up when I looked back at her.
"Good morning ate.. sorry po. I probably look like a mess right now"
She tailed me in the comfort room. I felt her staring at me while I wet my face. I cleared my throat and continue brushing my teeth.
"Why are you so conscious? You're very pretty kahit kagigising mo lang.." she chuckled.
"Says the Miss. La Union?" I teased her.
She's the newly crowned Mutya ti La Union. She's actually training for the national beauty competition. With her sleek black long hair, smooth skin, defined features, perfect body and a bright smile. Panalo na agad 'to.
"I want to pass the crown to you next year, sali ka.. I know you'd win" she urged me.
I wiped the smudges of toothpaste in the side of my lips before talking to her.
"Hindi ko yan forte, ate" anang ko habang tumatawa.
"Kahit for experience lang? I could coach you" tugon niya.
"Huwag nalang ate.. I'm fine watching girls do that thing. It's always been broadcasting for me"
"Pero pag nagbago isip mo ah.." she paused when she saw me getting my things on the bed. "Aalis kana? Breakfast muna tayo,"
I shyly nodded my head, "Sige ate.."
Nagpatianod ako sa paghila niya saakin. Ate Karla was been so nice to me ever since I became friends with Kevin. She always told me that I'm her younger sister. Dalawa lang kasi silang anak ni Kevin.
"Gising na po ba si Kevs?" I asked her.
Their maids started serving our food. It was a literal feast.
"He's probably showering," tugon niya.
I was just listening to Ate's kwento while we're eating. I met his eyes and tried to smile at him. He sat in front of me silently.
"Mukha kang hindi nakatulog and matamlay, are you okay?" nag-aalalang tanong ni Ate Karla sakanya.
I also noticed his eyebags, Igot worried. Then a memory flasbacked in my mind. Last night. I shrugged that thought off and pretended I'm fine.
"Hangover lang, te.." he said without looking at her sister.
"Tss.. I already told you to stop drinking! Manang, bring us some meds here please!"
I saw Kevin looking at my way but he immediately looked away when he saw me. I exhaled sharply at that.
We finished our food with Ate Karla's sentiment about Kevin's drinking. Pati nga ako ay naidamay pero hindi ko naman yun ininda since she's worried of us. Ganyan naman siguro talaga yung mga kapatid. I don't know because I don't have a sibling, not that I'm longing for one though.
