This story is about what I think would happen if Sarah had time to think about her father and what he did. It wasn't completely wrong but he was her father and he basically ran off. It wasn't cool what he did to her and her family especially since he was the main if not the only source of their money. I don't own Liberty Kids nor the characters. Please enjoy and review!

Now that the war is over Sarah has had time to think about things. Her emotions were coming up from all those years of war. The one thing that annoyed her to no end now that she had time to feel was her father's actions. Or rather lack of action. When he got to the Ohio Territories he forgot or rather possibly didn't care enough to write. To be fair he was far away from the colonies therefore from the postal system that Benjamin Franklin created.

Still, it annoyed her that he didn't write all that often. He prioritizes his new friends and family with the natives from the area. Sarah understood why he stayed. Frankly, she also preferred the colonies to England too. What inflamed her was that she stayed in contact with her Mom but he didn't. He didn't make sure they were alright.

As a woman, it was hard to make money and help her mother out. It was lucky that she started writing articles under a male alias so people would read them. She could send some money back to her mother. James also helped her mother of the family by sending a bit too. But a print shop and running a newspaper and having an apprentice costs money and they didn't have much to spare.

Her father sent about $20 worth of fur to sell for the both of them one year! Just one year of financial help. She was scowling as she was mopping. Her mother is packing up and going to move to America or get a divorce due to the fact he might still be alive. He hasn't been heard from for a long time. Her mother, being the society lady she was, didn't want to divorce and instead is going to try to get him declared legally dead so she can remarry.

And since she married James she couldn't marry into wealth for her family. She loved James too much to contemplate what if she married into wealth for the sake of her family and lifestyle. Her aunt and uncle were not much better off since Tom died.

James saw her scowl and asked "Hey Sarah, what's wrong? "

Sarah said "I am irritated at my father, He loves his new friends more than us. Mother is probably going to have to move with us and I am not sure I want another person. Though an extra set of hands would be helpful. He is not sending much money and it is hard to make money as a woman so we are getting poorer and poorer. I love our life but I don't think Mother will."

"I can see why you are irritated. I would be too and am here for you always, in sickness and in health."

Smiling at James' words I put my hands on his neck and kissed him. For the next few months, the emotions kept bubbling up and she hated it, She felt so betrayed. It was a miracle both her and her mother didn't end up on the streets. A month ago her mother started the journey to America to stay out at their place.

She was getting older so she would just clean and cook when no one else could. They would make it. Though it was going to be a tad harder.

Sarah was smiling and resting her hands on her belly. She was in her nightgown and James was cooking for her. James walked up the stairs

"Hey, breakfast is ready."

"Okay I am coming down, I just need to get dressed."

She quickly got dressed and threw up again. She walked into the kitchen after emptying her bucket.

James said "Are you okay? You have been sick for a month."

"Yes James, I have exciting news, you are going to be a father!"

James got a huge grin and picked me up and spun me around. A few months later her mother made it over the Atlantic. They were all fine and her mother was a big help when their child was born.

The only hiccup was during labor. When James got the doctor and brought him over Sarah wanted James in the room holding her hand.

Her mother declared "It is not proper!"

Sarah retorted "I don't care! He is my husband and he has been there for me. He has protected me. I want him there."

There were opioids and Sarah did not trust that she would be safe while sedated. She did not like him but he was one they could afford. James ignored the protests of the doctor and Sarah's mother and sat down grabbed her hand and said

"Sarah is my wife, if she wants me there, I will be there."

And he stayed and assured her. It broke his heart to see her in that much pain.

*screaming*

"Sarah darling, you can do it."

The birth continued into the night and into the afternoon. Finally, their child came into the world around 3 o'clock.

Her name was Felicity, and both she and James were in love with her the minute they saw her face. They watched her grow up and had a few more kids. She never heard from her father again but she put it all in the past. It hurt but she got over it. She had a very happy life despite that and wrote plenty of articles along with James.

Their children continued to help with the print shop and Felicity and her husband bought it to run themselves. Sarah and James grew old and died peacefully in their sleep surrounded by their children, grandchildren, and great children. With all the people they loved around them they thought "our lives weren't perfect but they were amazing."
