CHAPTER 4 - BROKEN PROMISE

*Timeskip To Their 1st Year Of Middle School*

POV - (L/N) (F/N)

Today was another boring day at school. I wish I could skip classes like Mikey and Draken but my parents would beat my ass for sure. 

I noticed that Draken has been treating me like a boy instead of someone he was going to marry in the future. I also noticed that he's been quite too friendly with Emma. 

And I got to say, I get really jealous. But I can't hate the two. I mean, Emma's adorable and Draken is my crush but it feels like he forgot the promise.

One day, Emma came up to me and said something that made my heart drop. We were at a cafe near my school. 

"Uhmm (F/N) can you help me with something?" She asked me. "Sure. What is it Emma?" I looked up from the menu. "How can I tell Draken I like him?" I stopped. "I'm sorry? What?" "How can I tell Draken I like him?" She repeated.

-Did Draken or Mikey not tell Emma about our promise? Well... She could tell Draken but she would get rejected because of it.- 

"You could just say it I guess. Just act normal." "Really! Thanks (F/N)." She beamed at me. "Sure no problem." I somewhat smiled back.

The next day, me and Draken were hanging out together. Draken looked bothered so I asked him about it. 

"What's wrong Draken?" I asked as I turned to him. "Well... I want to tell Emma that I like her but I don't know how to or if she likes me back. What should I do?" My heart dropped again as I looked at him.

-W-what? He... Likes Emma? What about our promise? Well... If he is happy then I am happy.- "W-well, just be yourself." I said through the pain.

"Ok. But I don't know if Emma likes me back." Draken said. -She does.- "Don't worry. You're overthinking it." "Ok. Thanks (F/N)." He smiled at me.

I faked a smile back at him. "Y-ya. No p-problem. I have t-to go. My parents n-need me." "Oh ok. See you." "Y-ya." I got up and walked out the park.

3rd POV - AUTHOR

Once (F/N) was out of Draken's sight, she ran home as fast as she could. She opened the door, ran upstairs to her room, and slammed the door shut. 

She slid down to the floor and cried herself to sleep. -What a lie, what a lie, what a lie.-
