Beep, beep, beep, bee- I shut off my annoying alarm and shifted to get more comfortable. I didn't have anything to do today so getting up early wasn't necessary. In the state of half awake, half asleep, I noticed something didn't feel right. My bedmate felt off.
No, he wasn't my boyfriend. He was a roommate that occasionally shared the bed with me. It made the four person, two bedroom apartment living arrangement easier to deal with. Plus, he was a great sleeping buddy so I often found myself falling asleep on him. Luckily that went two ways.
Slowly opening my eyes, I was stunned at what I saw.
Instead of the usual masculine features, short, spiky black hair and a soul patch, I saw feminine features, long, straight black hair and no facial hair whatsoever. Cautiously sitting up, I carefully grabbed my stuffed bunny and raised it over my head. I paused, watching the female for a moment. She slept soundly.
"PERVERT!" I shouted, whopping the girl with my bunny. "Get out of my bed! What kind of girl do you take me for? I don't like girls that way so get out! Get out, get out, get out!" I whacked the girl with each sentence I shouted as well as each "out".
"O-oi, Jas, what the hell?" she yelped, vice high pitched in shock.
I paused before whacking her harder. "Stalker! How do you know my name?"
"Ow, fuck, Jasmine, stop that!"
I froze at that. Wait, Jas? I pondered. The only person I know that calls me that is... "Lance?" I questioned.
The girl glared at me with familiar grey eyes. "Who the hell did you think it was? I fell asleep with you last night, remember?" she snapped. No longer surprised, her voice wasn't all that high. It was almost musical actually.
Narrowing my eyes at the girl, I leaned closer for a better examination. I could see similarities between her and my buddy, but the biggest similarity was the eyes. They both had the same grey eyes that, when narrowed in irritation, practically screamed "just how fucking dumb are you". "It is you!" I exclaimed, sitting back with a grin.
"Jasmine, did you eat something funny again?" he asked.
"No. But haven't you noticed that you're not the same as you were last night?"
"What are you talking about?"
Reaching out, I poked her in one breast. "Ya got tits now instead of pecs," I pointed out.
Cheeks flaring pink, he smacked my hand away. "Don't you have personal boundaries?" he growled, pulling the covers up.
"Not when it comes to friends, no," I answered.
"You're weird."
"So are you. Anyway, I'm going to see if Sarabeth and Andrew are up yet then I'll make breakfast." Rolling out of bed, I stood up, stretched and headed for the door. "Jas?" Lance called before I exited completely.
"What?" I responded.
"When did you put those on?"
Looking down, I remembered I was wearing my tank top and short shorts. "Sometime in the middle of the night. It got really hot and I figured you'd be uncomfortable waking up next to a girl in her undergarments."
"You...you look good."
Turning back, I saw Lance had the blanket over his nose, covering most of his blush. Smirking, I walked back to the bed. "Ya know Lance, considering what you wore last night, a tank and boxers," I leaned down so I was next to his ear as I whispered, "you're pretty sexy yourself."
His scarlet blush went crimson and he yanked the blanket over his head and turned his back to me.
I laughed as I exited the room. Heading to Sarabeth and Andrew's room, I paused outside the door and listened to see if they were awake. Hearing only Andrew's soft snores, I assumed they were still asleep. I left and went to the kitchen to make breakfast. In the middle of making the pancake batter, I heard Sarabeth scream. Dashing out of the kitchen, I was just in time to see her run from the room. "Sarabeth, what is it?" I asked.
