This Chapter is mostly written in Lizzie's POV , and Caroline is a a integral part of the chapter for obvious reasons which you will see. ( Guess in the comments if you can before reading)
Lizzie had left Hope's Dorm , heading towards her father's office to meet him. She knocks on the door which was slightly open, so she pokes her head in.
Alaric :- Come in
He looks up to attend to the visitor & spots his daughter.
Alaric :- Hello Elizabeth, What can I do for you?
Lizzie is about to answer but spots a bottle of bourbon on her father's desk & snaps at him.
Liz :- Tell me you haven't been day drinking again.
Alaric is taken aback by the statement & takes notice of the alcohol on his desk.
Ric :- Ohh , This , This! No , no nothing like that , Damon Salvatore just came by a few minutes ago for a visit to check in on the preparations & dropped this off as a gift.
Lizzie relaxes listening to the clarification.
Liz :- Uncle Damon & his Bourbon.
She huffs with a tone of Sarcasm.
Ric :- Now why don't you enlighten me to why I have been graced by your presence.
Liz :- Two reasons , first I need to borrow your car & two to check if you know where mom is.
Ric :- Well , why would you need my car now ??
Liz :- Dad , I need to go shopping for the Ball tomorrow & before you ask I want Mom to accompany me , so she'll be driving .
Lizzie gives him a cute puppy dog look.
Alaric sighs knowing that there's no point in arguing about this with his daughter., so he just gives in . He opens a drawer taking a key out of it & tosses it to Lizzie.
Alaric :- Just cause 'I love You' , and your mom is handling the preparations with Emma , I will inform her now & tell her to meet you by the car .
Liz :- Thank you Dad.
She is over joyed & just goes and hugs her dad who pecks her forehead .
Alaric :- Be Safe Honey.
Before he could finish , Lizzie is already out of his office in a blink.
5 minutes later , she is in the Parking lot , searching for the car as she spots it & leans over it waiting for her mother. A minute later , Caroline swoops over right by her.
Care :- Sorry Love , I was busy getting the preparations done with Emma.
Liz :- Its ok Mom, believe me I know it with experience.
Lizzie was used to organising such events in the absence of her mother , but now in her presence she was happy to let her mother take charge.
Care :- I know baby and that only makes me more proud.
She smiles at her daughter .
Liz :- So shall we now?
Care :- After you.
They both smile & make themselves comfortable inside the car as Caroline begins driving while Lizzie just plays a song.
Care :- Ok so where are we going to?
