They were still hours away from LA and the drive seemed like forever. It wasn't too bad. The car had a decent working stereo and the seats were quite comfy. To pass time they talked about cell phones, current music, the new fashion age, things of that nature. Cora didn't talk much, but listened to Richard talk about stuff that interested him, nothing too deep. She didn't mind. She liked learning about him, and he started to open up to her more and more. "Come on, you've been so quiet. I want to get to know you Cora."
"Why? You're just going to dispose of me in the end so what's the point?"
Richard let out a deep sigh. "Fine. You gotta learn to start having fun, don't be so boring." He turned the radio up playing all his favorite Billy Idol songs. Richard was tapping the steering wheel to the beat of 'Rebel Yell' while beginning to sing the lyrics. He nudged Cora's arm with his elbow to signal her to start singing along too. She rolled her eyes and before she knew it both of their voices were shouting the words 'in the midnight hour, she cried more, more, more With a rebel yell she cried more, more, more'. Their laughter and singing filled the air as they sped down an empty highway. Cora started to dance and squirm in her seat and Richard swayed, moving his head along to the melody. At that time all the problems had gone away. There was no stress. Just two people, enjoying life. "See there you go! Now you're getting loose!" Richard yelled over the blaring music, looking over at her with a smile across his lips. She looked beautiful. Her hair blowing from the breeze coming through the windows, her skin glowing as the golden hour sun kissed her, and her bright blue eyes that pulled everything together. It was the happiest they both had been in a long time.
The guitar chords of 'Made for lovin you' by KISS started to play on the radio and Cora's face immediately lit up.
"Pull over!" She ordered. Richard furrowed his eyebrows. "What?"
"Quick pull over now!" Cora repeated. He did as told and the girl hurried out of the car and began dancing around in the middle of the street. She spun in circles and jumped up and down letting her body take control. Richard opened his door and stood there watching, leaning against the car. "What are you doing?" He questioned."You told me to be fun...so I am! Now come on, turn up the music and get over here!" He obeyed and turned the volume all the way up walking towards the woman. They joined hands and spun each other around. Pulling their body's apart and then back into each other again. Cora's hips swayed back and forth and soon Richard was behind her, guiding her movements and holding her close. His hands explored her torso, gripping her tight. She closed her eyes and reached behind her gently running her fingers through his curly hair. His face was buried in the crook of her neck as he started to kiss and suck on her whispering the lyrics in her ear.
'I was made for lovin' you, baby
You were made for lovin' me'. Cora's stomach felt like a sanctuary of butterflies. Richard suddenly spun her around. Their hips swayed together as they looked into each other's eyes, both of them filled with lust. He held her against him while his hands trailed down to her ass. Her breathing started to get erratic and her heartbeat sped up tremendously. She looked at his eyes and then at his lips and then at his eyes again. She could feel his dick pushing up against her leg and it tempted her to rip his clothes off even more. Their faces were only inches apart and Cora wanted to fill that gap so bad with a passionate kiss. Their lips were slightly touching and she could feel his smooth skin against hers and god did it feel good. The song slowly came to an end and silence swept over them. Before she could lean any closer Richard exhaled and pulled away. "We better get going before it gets dark." Cora reached her hand up to her neck and rubbed it while walking back to the car. "Uh yeah, yeah you're right."The both of them got back into the vehicle and drove off into the vacant street with nothing but the dimming sky and road ahead of them. Blue highway by Billy Idol quietly played in the background. She felt so stupid. What was she thinking? Did she really believe that anything could happen between her and Ramirez?! A lump started to form in her throat making her feel like she couldn't breathe or talk. Her stomach dropped once again and her eyes started to fill with tears that quickly ran down her cheeks. Wiping them off briskly she held all the emotions back acting like she was fine with the whole situation. Richard placed his hand on her thigh, squeezing and caressing it. 'What the fuck? A minute ago he didn't seem interested and now he's all over me again.' She was confused but didn't want to ruin the moment. She loved feeling his touch...his affection. She rested her head back on the seat and placed her hand on top of his. She gazed at him while he stared out at the road, one hand on the steering wheel, the other on her. He was so pretty. His messy curls hung loosely over his face and his lips were parted just a little bit. She was craving him so much. But was he craving her? Clearly not.
Cora's eyelids started to feel heavy and she soon drifted off to sleep. Her hand still holding Richard's. The sign welcoming them into LA was now visible. They pulled up to a decent sized two story house. "Wake up baby girl. We're here" She lifted her eyes and started to help Richard bring in bags. This was it. This was her new home... for now.
