enemies to lovers, v short, but again when are my oneshots not short
no triggers, enjoy!!!

dream despised george davidson.

it was like the man followed him everywhere, and he was so terribly loud. everywhere dream went, he seemed to be always there, his stupid, pretty face that smirked everytime he saw dream. it was like he was messing with him for fun, purposely teasing dream because he knew that that shit gets on his nerves.

and worse of all, they were roomates.

so everyday, dream had to see his face right when he woke up, and they basically had all the same classes anyway, which only made dream more angry. he never hated anyone else like george.

his stupid, cocky voice that always seemed to be ringing in dreams ears, his dumb, boyish grin that reached his ears, his idiotic, fluffy hair that looked so easy to drag his hands through-

and so, dream dealt with george for most of the year, and naturally he noticed when the boy changed small things. like, rearranging their shared dorm more often, started to add small daises in tiny vases around the living room, and his colonge seemed to be everywhere. he didn't really mind, so he let it be.

until george started acting different.

he started coming home more late, and often smelled like something sweet, like a feminine perfume that annoyed dream. he would see george enter their shared living space looking all dazed and grinning like a fool, and dream did not like it at all. it was suspicious. he even stopped teasing dream, his eyes barely meeting him and always seemed to be staring at something. or someone.

so dream decided to investigate.

he watched george's eyes flit up to a certain direction and dream watched as he started turning red and began smiling the same way he would when he'd get back to their dorm. it's almost like, he was in love or something.

oh.

dream furrowed his eyebrows and looked in the direction george was staring at and his eyes were met with a very short girl. she seemed about 5'1, korean, and overall looked sweet. but she was taking george's attention, and that wasn't so sweet of her.

so, that night when george got back from the dorm with the same lovesick look on his face, dream finally said something about it.

"so who is she?"

george looked surprised that dream was actually starting a conversation with him. "uh, who?"

"you know," dream prodded. "the girl that got you smiling like a total idiot everyday."

"oh, her names hana. why do you wanna know?" george questioned, now softly grinning, thinking of the girl. he was clearly smitten for her, and that just made dream feel more annoyed.

"uh, no reason. see you later i guess." dream said, walking in his room awkwardly.

george was confused, but decided that it probably didn't matter and went on with his day like he usually would.

dream hated how everyday he would see george and hana shooting eachother shy looks during class. he hated the way they both grinned when their eyes met. he hated how george never smiled when he saw dream like he did when he saw hana. he hated that there was no more teasing, no more whatever, complicated, fun thing they had.

he was getting pissed off.

so one day, like every other day, george walks into their dorm and is surprised with the sight of dream waiting for him in the kitchen. he just brushes it off, and starts to head into his room before he's interrupted by a loud slam. shocked, he turned his head towards the living room where dream was standing up, hunched over with his hands firmly pressed on the counter and breathing heavily.

"dream, you good?" he says cautiously, concerned.

"no, i'm not fucking good."

"why?"

"because of you."

"of me?" george scoffed, "i don't get why you hate me so much, we barely even talk,"

he was cut off by dream walking over to him intimidatingly, and he backed up nervously until his back hit the wall.

dream basically towered over him, and he liked the look on george's face. his eyes wide, face flushed, and staring up at dream.

"i like seeing you like this," dream slurred, "all red and pretty."

george got even more flustered, using the back of his hand to cover his mouth, embarrassed.

"are you okay? have you been drinking?" george stammered nervously, smelling the alchohol on his breath.

"no i'm not fucking okay! you ignore me now for that girl, and you don't even act like i exist anymore, and i hate it," dream whined.

"i miss what we had, the stupid fake flirting, the dumb teasing, i miss you."

george's eyes widened as dream continued rambling, sobering up.

"i wished you smiled when you think of me instead of her, i wish you would stare at me in class instead of her, i wished you liked me instead of her."

"and this is so stupid because you obviously hate me and it'll will never happen, but this shit has been making me mad so i'm just gonna tell you anyways. i want to be able to make you happy like she does, i wish i was in her place, and-"

he was cut off by george gently pressing his lips to his own.

"you're so dumb," he said quietly, cradling dream's face.

"wwhat?" dream stammered, breathless.

"do you know why i decided to like her? because of you. i like you, dream. but i thought it would never happen, so i needed a distraction to get over you. and hana doesn't even feel that way about me," george breathed.

"i like you, dream."

their eyes met lovingly for a moment before they connected with a soft kiss.

"i still hate you, you know."

"yeah. me too."

and so, they spent the rest of the day cuddling on the sofa contently.
