Chapter 1» meeting Shawn

I woke up to bangs on my door. It was a sign that I need to get up. I woke up and I went to the bathroom. I looked in the mirror to see a bruise near my jaw. I brushed my teeth and washed my face and put on makeup to cover up the bruise. I put on a mint green sweater with a scarf to cover bruises with jeans and boots.
I put my hair in a side braid and a necklace my mom gave me before she passed away. I headed down and got a wake up bar to go. I heard my dad coming for me so I headed out as quickly as possible and said "love you bye!" Fast before shutting the door.
I walked to school again today. it slowly started to snow. I looked up to see a bright colored paper stuck on a pole.
So I walked over to it. it was a sticky note. it read "your worth it."
I smiled at it and took it off. I headed back to the sidewalk. and I saw another one. it said "your beautiful"
I collected it and I went to walk to school.

I headed inside and headed to my locker I put the notes inside and grabbed my binders and books. I went to homeroom. after the bell rang we went to 1st,2nd and 3rd period. lunch then the last periods. We had our nightly reading for homework today. I got my bag and stuffed it with my binder and book to had to read and they called first round. I walked home.

It was quiet. the trees were all frozen from this morning. it was cold and down the street was a Tim Hortons. i decided to get some. I walked there and entered. the smell of coffee made me warm. I was a regular I guess you could say. Mandy a waitress there is my best friend. she gives me the regular. I always ordered the original blend with a wild berry muffin. but sometimes I order the original chocolate chip.

"The original today?"
I hear Mandy say.

"Um yeah. How much?" I said taking out some cash.

"Here I'll tell you what. It's cold out today..ill give you it free." She said with a smile. I smiled back and she got my order. I thanked her then I headed out. I walked with my coffee and muffin that was in a brown bag. I was walking Down my street when I saw a tall boy. with a black hoodie and he was placing a sticky note on a pole.

It was him? He's the one who's been putting the sticky notes on the pole? I asked to my self.

I walked over to him.

"Hi." I said to him.

He turned around and he stuffed the sticky notes and pen in his pocket.
"Hi" his soft voice made me feel a type of way.

"Wait your the one who's been putting those notes around the streets?"
I asked.

"Yeah that's me." He said with a smile.

"Ohh..um let me introduce myself I'm- I'm skyler."

"I'm Shawn." He said as he looked at my Tim Hortons.

"Do you want some?"

"What?"

"Do you want some of my coffee and muffin?"

"Oh umm sure?" He said scratching the back of his neck.

He grabbed my wrist and lead me to his house. I followed him to the kitchen and he got a mug for him. it said "I love muffins" I gave him half of the coffee and cut half of the muffin for us to share.
I ended up telling Shawn about my dad and my mom. after we ate I went back to my house. shawn gave me his number before I left and headed home.
