Slowly she opened the door

Jasmin: is anybody here? Arijit? – she said peeping inside the room.

It was semi dark inside the auditorium as the curtains were pulled down and she couldn't see anything clearly

Jasmin: Arijit? Are you inside? – she again called for him

"here" came a heavy voice from inside the auditorium?

Jasmin: where? – she took a few steps inside the auditorium

Arijit: come inside

Jasmin: what are you doing in this dark? – she asked walking inside clueless

Arijit was standing in the center of the auditorium facing his back at Jasmin

Jasmin: Arijit? What happened are you fine.....Saloni came to me running, is anything wrong? – she asked a zillion to him

Suddenly the spotlight fell on them and Arijit turned and looked at her with sparkling eyes.

Jasmin: what's happening? – she was confused

And when she looked at Arijit, he was already in his knees with a red rose in his hand

Jasmin: what.... – she was cut in between by Arijit

Arijit: shuu.... First let me speak – Arijit said and continued

Arijit: Jasmin I know we have been best friends since childhood. We have literally had soo much fun together. I love to prank you and tease you but I hate it when you cry . I think we both understand each other also. I know you consider me to be your best friend only but I really love you Jasmin so , will you be my girlfriend? – he said with all his heart.

Jasmin was speechless not because she was happy but because she didn't know how to handle the situation.

Jasmin's p.o.v

Honestly I am shocked, I mean he is right I never considered our relationship to be more than friendship. He is no doubt a great friend in fact he is my best friend after Zain left to study abroad. He has been my partner in crime more than anyone but I have never thought anything about him in a romantic way. God!!! How I come out of this situation, obviously I don't want to break his heart but then again I don't love him as a lover......

Arijit: Jasmin? – he called her , breaking her chain of thoughts

Jasmin: yes?....yes...

Arijit: say something!!!! – he said pointing at his kneeled position

Jasmin held his shoulders and made his stand up

Jasmin: actually Arijit.... – she was ging to say something but Arijit spoke up in between

Arijit: ok, I get it. I know all these is soo sudden that you are confused and you don't know what to say. it's alright....you take tonight to think about it and tomorrow let me know about your decision ok? – he said cheerfully

Jasmin was not able to think about any excuse to decline his proposal so she readily agreed with his offer to give her decision tomorrow

Jasmin: thank you for understanding – she said looking down

Arijit: who will understand if not me?

Jasmin: but Arijit....if my answer is .....you know,.... Will we still be friends then? – she asked carefully choosing each other

Arijit: of course not!!!!!! – he said baffling

Jasmin: what? – she was getting upset because she didn't want to loose her good friend

Arijit: we will be best friends just like we are – he said laughing

Jasmin looked at him with an angry pout

Arijit: o god!!! Look at your face – he said laughing

Jasmin: stop pulling my leg – she said warning

Arijit: aww, you look like a cute angry bird – he said holding his laugh

Jasmin: whatever – she said making a quaky face

Arijit was just going on laughing seeing at her cute attics

Jasmin: I am going – she turned to leave

Arijit: wait, I have something for you – he went towards an empty desk and bought something in his hand

Jasmin again turned around waited wondering what was he going to give now

Arijit: take this..... – he forwarded the rose he had proposed with and a big gift wrap

Jasmin: what's this?

Arijit: open it – he said encouragingly

Jasmin started opening it when suddenly Arijit stopped her
