it was the after party, solange and Ivy stood on either side of Mason and Kai. The german exhaled and dragged Ivy with him somewhere while Mason rested his hands on his hips. They were stood in the hallway of probably the biggest mansion she had been in.

She followed him through the house, holding onto the hem of his shirt, she absolutely hated partying in stranger's houses. They found themselves in the massive backyard, decorated with fairy lights and long tables with various drinks and shot glasses.

"dance with me!" he exclaimed over the loud music and grabbed onto her hand, leading her to the middle of the crowd. Solange laughed at him, he motioned for her to join in and she did.

Somehow he was hugging her from behind and they both sang along to DBE—she couldn't quite pin which song, all she knew was the lyrics.

She saw multiple camera flashes, her head was beginning to spin, but the grin on her face only widened because she could practically explode from the happiness. Mason had his arm secured around her, the song changed to 'never find' by WSTRN and Solange felt oddly safe in the unfamiliar environment.

"It's our two month anniversary in two weeks" he giggled into her ear, he closed his eyes and the couple swayed to the beat.

"Aren't you away in camp by then?" she questioned, the euros were coming up and Mason had been called up for the England squad.

"perhaps" he realised that they would have to spend their 'second' anniversary through a face time call "I hope you guys bring it home" she said in a joking manner, of course she was rooting for the world champions—France.

"Don't worry, i'm gonna kick your brother's ass when we play, don't tell him tough"

She laughed at him and turned around to face the boy. Her arms snaked their way around his neck and Mason rested his arms around her waist.

He reached his hand up and tugged on a strand of hair, he watched the curl stretch out and bounce back again. A chuckle escaped his lips and his hand went back to her waist "I never got to tell you how pretty—" he paused.

"Your hair is" he smiled gently.

Solange laughed "You're funny, you're the one who used to bully me for it, remember?"

"I know, I was only teasing" He exclaimed, it wasn't like he had the best trim either. She shook her head with a faint smile, Solange turned away from him to hide her smile yet again. He stole a glance at her.

The lavender-coloured dress she had on hugged her body like a second layer of skin. The scar on her cheekbones made her look even more intimidating than her lips that naturally curved into a slight frown.

As he parted his lips to tell her how beautiful she was, a voice cut him off. One he had been dreading to hear.

"Mason?" The brunette rested a hand on his upper arm. He shuddered at her touch and turned to the girl. She hadn't changed a single bit, she smiled at him.

"Mariah"

Solange watched the encounter, Mariah seemed so familiar to her, like they had met before. But where? And when?

"How have you been?" She smiled sickening sweetly at him, showing off her pearly white veneers (that she got with his money). Mariah was the definition of 'the devil wears Prada'.

"Good" he mumbled, his hands pulling in Solange closer to his side.

"Great" she quickly turned to Solange, lips quirking up into a smile as she extended her hand "I'm Maria, I assume your Mason's friend"

Solange felt a look of disgust making entrance before she covered it up with a polite fake smile "Girlfriend" she shook her hand with a tight grip.

The grin on the brunette's face fell "hmm" she raised her eyebrows, taking in the outfit the brown skinned girl wore.

"I see" Solange could obviously see the hatred in her eyes. Was it really all because of Mason?

"Did you need anything?" He chimed in after seeing Solange's eyebrows slightly furrow.

"Nope, just wondering if you were up for lunch tomorrow, to celebrate you win? Like we used to. I mean; we're still friends right?" Maria blinked a couple of times, looking at him with the innocent look.

Solange felt shivers down her back, she absolutely hated the brunette already.

"Nope, he can't tomorrow. He's hanging out with me"
