I shifted my eyes from the road to a bus stop planted on the sidewalk. I saw a little girl with curly strawberry blonde hair and blue eyes sitting alone, scanning the horizon. I pulled over close to the curb, cutting the ignition.

"What the heck do you think you are doing?" Zander asked.

"I'm going to help that little girl." I replied as I opened the door and hopped out, landing on the scorching cement, barefoot. The other part of our group pulled up behind us, everybody climbed out to follow me. I walk over to the other bench, which is right next to the bus stop, and sit down. I close my eyes, pushing my attention into the little girl's mind.

"Hello Neveah Bean." I said to the girl, walking over to sit next to her in the bus stop. Her hazel eyes widened as she started to scooch away from me.

"H-h-how do you know my name?" Neveah asked. There was fear in her eyes.

"Your name is on your backpack." I lied. Neveah looked down at her lap and blushed.

"Where are your parents?" I asked. She started to get up, but I grabbed her arm. "Neveah, please tell me, or I can have my friend Jane over there call your parents. And before you ask, yes, I know your parents' phone numbers."

"I promise we'll not hurt you. Trust me, you will be safer with us then out here by yourself." Zander told her, coming to kneel beside me.

"My parents forgot me here. I already called them, but they said that they were not coming back to get me. Not ever." Neveah blurted out, tears pooled in her eyes. She quickly wiped the fresh tears away with the back of her hand.

"Don't worry, we're just like you! Our parents either left us or treated us badly when we were just about your age. But we also have a secret, do you want to know?" I whispered. Neveah nodded her head in response. Zander used his power and disappeared, then reappeared, making Neveah jerk back on the bench. Alex made a ball of water in her hand. Jane conjured a map. Walrus blended into the bus stop wall. Zoe cut herself with a sharp rock, but immediately healed herself. James' eyes glowed green and he immediately started naming the hundred digits of pi. Elise grabbed a piece of metal and shaped it into a dagger. I slipped into Neveah's head and transmitted to her. "You're safe. You can do what I can do, if you come with us you can become just as powerful or maybe more."

     "You're like superheroes!" Neveah exclaimed.

"No, we are actually children of fairy tale characters. We are called 'Legends'" Walrus replied.

Neveah clung to my hand as we walked back to the jeep. I hopped into the front seat, along with Neveah, who instantly climbed into the passenger seat. Zander gave me a look, but reluctantly went along with it.

"Just to warn you, Olivia can really flip out about her directions, I just thought that you should know, since you just took on the navigator job." Walrus whispered, quite loudly, in Neveah's ear.

"Shut it, Zander is still being the navigator since he is the only one who knows how to correctly  read a map." I explained, looking directly into Walrus's eyes. Neveah hunched over, dying of laughter.

I took a left turn, following road signs until an extravagant hotel came into view. By the time we pulled into the parking lot, the sky darkened and you could see the stars. Thank goodness we where in the middle of nowhere, with no light pollution. I helped Neveah out of the jeep and started towards the hotel's lobby entrance.

"So, one room or two?" Alex asked, coming up beside me with the rest of the group.

"I was thinking one, so we don't get separated. But, I will get us a room with three bedrooms, and a pull-out couch. Some people can sleep on the floor." I explained. The automatic doors slid open, letting us into the lobby. I walked up to the receptionist, with Neveah at my side.
