CHAPTER FOUR
HOW TO BE A GROUNDER
"it takes two to tango"
˚✧₊*⁎⁺˳✧༚

Dylan was suprised. In a good way.

It was nearing the end of the day when Lincoln and herself had finally arrived at the village he had been telling her all about. It wasn't too big, maybe just a little bigger than the camp they had at the drop site. But the cozy little village was beautiful.

It was located just by a lake and stunningly green plains that resembled the many pictures, drawings and paintings she had seen on the ark. They stretched for miles upon miles, some covered in flowers others don't. Lincoln had to snap Dylan out of the daze she got caught in when simply staring at the astonishing scenery.

The village was by the foot of some moutain. The people there barely batted an eye as Lincoln and Dylan arrived. Of course, Lincoln had managed to alter Dylan's appearance to better fit in there. Her hair was now sporting a few braids that reminded Dylan of the ones in Anya's hair. As well as that, some dirt was smeared around her eyes to make her match Lincoln's 'make up' better. Dylan had caught a glimpse of her reflection in the water earlier on, and she couldn't deny. She looked like a freaking bad ass.

The mosquitoes bites had thankfully gone away rather quickly after the ointment had been applied. Lincoln had insisted that there was a broader variety of stuff to choose from here in the village in case something else happened. One thing he couldn't stop talking about was seeing old friends again, and how beautiful the small village was. He even mused about the market they had. It was small, but it had a suprisingly big stock.

The ground was soggy and covered with mud. Earlier on the day it had been raining. It was a feeling Dylan could never get used to. She had actually stopped just to dance around in the rain, eventually forcing Lincoln to join her. He wasn't the best dancer and he preferred to watch Dylan in all her euphoric feelings. It was like all her worries slipped away for a moment.

That's till she slipped and fell face first into a mud pool. Let's just say it ruined her vibe.

"Lincoln!" A voice soared through the air, reaching the two standing in the middle of the village. A man wearing a huge smile took of running towards them. His grin almost reached his ears as he pulled Lincoln into a tight, brotherly hug. "Long time no see."

Lincoln had only managed to teach Dylan how to introduce herself, so she had absolutely no clue what the other grounder had just told him. For all she knew, he could be telling him how she looked like a donkey.

The man, like Lincoln, was tall and strongly built. He sported a beard that was a mixture of grey and black hairs, which matched the hair ontop of his head. He looked a few years older than Lincoln, but he couldn't be older than forty.
