CHAPTER SEVEN
FAMILY REUNION
"when i see you again"
˚✧₊*⁎⁺˳✧༚

Marcus Kane had accepted the fact that his daughter was dead.

His one motivation for returning to earth had been her. The repeating imagine in his head where he would finally get to see her face and hear those sarcastic comments. While he still had her, the comments went under-appreciated and he quite frankly found them rude and irritating. But now, there was no amount of money Marcus Kane wouldn't pay to get to hear them once again.

He had held up hope for her return ever since he came down to earth and Bellamy Blake informed her that she, along with Clarke Griffin and a lot of other teenagers, were missing, presumably dead. The hope had slowly fizzled out like a spark in the wind, but when Clarke returned to the camp not only alive, but somewhat well, the hope inside of him was ignited once more. That is until Clarke informed them of exactly who were in that mountain she had managed to escape from, and that she was just as worried and clueless about Dylan Brown Kane's whereabouts as the rest of them.

His daughter was dead, there was no other possible addition to her story. She was dead, and he was better off accepting it now. Hope was important, especially in the situation they were currently in, but it was also followed by disappointment. And none of them could handle any more disappointments before cracking.

John Murphy had stared with soulles eyes since he was brought back to the Camp Jaha without Dylan by his side. When no one was looking, he cried. His tears fell for the ghost of his best friend, all the things he wished he had told her when he still had her running through his head. Regret and guilt was eating him alive. Dylan died believing her best friend was nothing but a cowardly, traitorous backstabber who only cared about himself. How could he possibly live with himself knowing that though he didn't lower Dylan into the grave, he had let her down for a final time.

Bellamy was worried sick for all of the delinquents stuck in the mountain. After everything they had gone through together, he felt a sense of responsibility for them all. But Dylan was clearly the one he was the most crushed about. Though no one dared say it out loud, it was obvious that each day that passed without Dylan there to keep him in check with her attitude and banter Bellamy grew more and more angry. He was raging inside, angry at himself, everyone else and the world. They had failed her. He had taken her for granted when she was still there with them, treating her like complete garbage by constantly overruling what she said or by telling her to shut up. Bellamy would never forgive himself for that.

Clarke was feeling a similar way as Bellamy, only she was about a hundred times better at keeping herself together than he was. Clarke was keeping her eyes on the 'price', the price being dodging the war brewing just outside of the gates of the camp. Dylam was pushed all the way to the back of her mind. If they survived, there would be plenty time for her to mourn her.
