A loud bang echoed throughout the apartment, startling the sleeping h/c girl awake as she sat up in shock, her hair in disarray, and eyes still heavy with sleep. Upon realizing the loud bangs were due to harsh knocking on her apartment door, Y/n quickly stumbled out of bed, nearly tripping when shimmying her ankle free of her f/c comforter. Ignoring the near accident, Y/n rushed to her door thinking of the worst case scenarios as to why someone would be banging on her door, at only 8am, on a Sunday.
With some haste, Y/n rubbed the sleep from her drooping eyes and ran a hand through tangled tresses, before opening her door with a sleepy smile. "Good morning, can I help you with someth-..Larry? Sal?" Y/n's friendly greeting fell short as her face contorted in confusion once she saw her new neighbors at her door, sheepish smiles and shuffling accompanying them. " 'Sup, dude?" Larry asked, his heavily lined eyes trained on the messy, tired girl. He cleared his throat to avoid laughing at the insane bedhead formed on Y/n's head.
Y/n raised a brow at the behavior, not understanding why Larry held a hand over his strained smile, his eyes flickering with amusement while his blue-haired buddy, Sal, just shook his head with a quiet chuckle, his low voice bringing the girl's attention to him. "Y/n, you look like you were assaulted by a group of wild squirrels." Sal stated, his smile beginning to lift his prosthetic while his shoulders shook slightly. Larry choked back a laugh before he responded, noting Y/n's confused expression while she walked to a nearby mirror and immediately began blushing.
Larry stepped in, crossing his arms as a crooked grin spread across his face. " I hate to say it, but it looks like the squirrels won, bro. Better luck next time.." Larry's teasing broke Sal, causing the boy to snort before laughing as Y/n dashed to her room to look more presentable, flipping off a laughing Larry and Sal in the process.
As the boys calmed down, Larry wiping away tears, and Sal fixing his crooked mask. Through some more amused chuckles, Larry stood back up and slouched against the wall of Y/n's apartment, his hands shoved into his pockets as he cleared his throat, watching Sal straighten up and cross his arms. "You know, Bro. Y/n's kinda cute with bedhead." Larry abruptly stated, ignoring Sal's look of disbelief. Sal was going to respond before the boys heard Y/n's bedroom door open as she walked out, grumbling incoherent profanities out of embarrassment. She ignored the boys' interested looks as they examined her outfit, their faces covered in a light blush.
Y/n turned, her hands on her hips as she stood tall, a huff sounding from her lips as she looked at the boys. "Guys. It's rude to stare, y'know?" Y/n couldn't help the amused smirk that formed upon noticing Larry's embarrassed expression, and Sal's quick attempt at looking anywhere but her as he mumbled a quiet apology, rubbing the back of his neck.
With a roll of her e/c eyes, she chuckled, walking to the small kitchenette in her apartment. As she looked through her cabinets for some breakfast, she glanced at the boys over her shoulder. "So, do one of you dorks wanna tell me why you woke me up at like, 8 am on Sunday, of all days?" Y/n asked, her voice tinged with mild annoyance while she waited for a response. Sal was quick to perk up, his awkward stare down with the floor ended. "Oh yeah. Larry and I wanted to give you a tour of the complex." Sal stated, looking to a now excited Larry as he walked up to the counter, leaning on the surface.
"Yep. Figured we'd show our new most interesting gal the old place. Wouldn't want you getting lost and chased off by our resident ghosts." Larry stated; Sal elbowing Larry's ribs soon after, straightening up as he caught Y/n's skeptical gaze, swallowing the lump in his throat as she only giggled.
Y/n turned to her friends, back leaned against her fridge with her arms crossed as she looked at the two. "Ghosts? Seriously? What are we, twelve and telling ghost stories?" She stated, sitting up and tying her hair up into a high ponytail, her eyes still focused on the now anxious boys in her apartment.
Larry chuckled nervously, looking at Sal for help. Said boy merely sighed as he pulled out a Gameboy, placing it on the counter. "I don't blame you for being a skeptic. But, Larry and I can prove it. But, you have to keep quiet about it with anyone other than us. The people in Nockfell are, odd, to say the least." Sal responded, his tone nonchalant while Larry tried to awkwardly laugh it off, noticing Y/n's disbelieving gaze and taunting smirk. "Gee, Sal. Trying to scare me off already? Thought we were friends." Y/n teased, her eyes landing on the device placed on her counter. With a scrutinous gaze, she carefully picked up the Gameboy, once again looking towards the two boys. "Alright you two, I'll bite. But only because I'm curious of this "Ghost in the Monitor" nonsense. If you two can convert me to paramaniac from skeptic, I'll make you two lunch." Y/n stated, a challenging smirk on her face, which was only met with two smirks of the same feel. "You, Y/n L/n, have got yourself a deal." Sal responded happily, reaching to take his GameBoy back from Y/n, only to stumble forward slightly when she lifted it out of his reach. "Nuh uh, Pretty Boy. I get to carry the cool Ghostbusters' gadget." Y/n stated, oblivious to the growing blush on the boy's face as he not only fell in front of the new girl, she was nonchalantly playing with strands of his blue pigtails. While Sal gathered his bearings, Y/n moved past him with his Gameboy, teasingly throwing a wink at Larry upon noticing his red face from holding in a laugh. Larry choked a bit before pulling Sal along by his arm, the two catching up to Y/n who was waiting by the apartment door.
Once the boys were next to Y/n, she double checked for her apartment key, then opened her door to walk into the hallway. As the trio chatted by the elevators, they got to know each other a bit more, they talked about the history of Addison Apartments and its bad luck, and then, the ghosts. Needless to say, Y/n was intrigued by the stories of the 5th floor, and room 102. The biggest one she was curious about, was Stacy and Megan Holmes. Their story was upsetting, and if, they were indeed real, Y/n wanted to meet them. Currently, the three were walking through each floor while the boys introduced everyone, cracking jokes about a few tenants, making Y/n giggle or laugh as they walked along. She had to say, she was happy to have made friends with Sal and Larry.
Finally, around 2, the trio made it to the 5th floor, though in secrecy, as it was still under construction. Y/n was excited, even if there were no ghosts, she loved exploring places like this. Desolate with dark history really fed her darker curiosity and need for adventure. The boys were shocked that, despite the stories they told Y/n, she was bouncing on the balls of her feet in the rickety elevator, holding onto both boys as she chattered on. Sal merely shook his head, whereas Larry gushed to Y/n about how cool she was, making the poor girl blush.
After a few minutes, the elevator stopped with a groan of protest, before the doors slowly opened to a broken down corridor. The walls were faded in color, with chipping paint and water damage. The floors looked ready to give way with too much weight, and some doors were missing their number plaques, as they had fallen onto the other existing debris. Y/n looked on in wonder as her lips formed a curious smile. Though, her contentment was interrupted upon hearing an odd noise. She looked around in confusion before she felt Sal quickly snatch the Gear Boy out of her hands, before patting her head as he walked towards a particular direction. Y/n noticed Larry's discomfort and fell back to walk alongside him, gently wrapping her hand around his forearm in reassurance. Larry looked down at her, his brown eyes shining slightly with anxiety before nodding at her in thanks. As the two walked together, Sal stood at a particular door, leaning down to pick up a fallen number plaque that read: "504."
Y/n looked at him curiously as she stepped closer, pulling Larry along with her as she wrapped a hand around Sal's arm too. "So, Sal Fisher, ready to lose that deal?" Y/n asked teasingly, looking at the blue haired boy. He just chuckled, removing his arm from her grasp, and wrapping it around her shoulder. "Not at all, Y/n L/n, I'm simply thinking about what I want for lunch. How bout you, dude?" Sal asked, looking towards Larry who put a hand under his chin. "I don't know, Bro. I'm curious to see if our new buddy here can cook." Larry stated, wiggling his eyebrows at Y/n and earning a chuckle. "Guess we'll find out." Sal responded, opening the old door, the loud squeak of worn hinges bouncing along the walls.
As they entered, Y/n stared at Sal as he suddenly called out to someone. "Hey, Megan, you home? It's me, Sally Face, and I have someone that wants to meet you." He said, as if he was calling out for a friend living in the room. Y/n raised a brow, but felt Larry tense alongside her when they suddenly heard and odd gurgling sound. Like a clogged drain. Soon after, Y/n's breath hitched when she heard the voice of a little girl.
"Hi, Sally Face! I missed you!" She said happily, then everything went quiet.A/N: Your outfit is in the chapter picture. Pardon if it isn't your style, can change it. I just wanted to find something that kind of fit the vibe of Sally Face. Thanks for reading!
