A pleasant atmosphere encased the dingy apartment as Larry, Sal and Y/n all leaned back in their chairs, stomachs full. The new found trio talked aimlessly among themselves, their laughter filling the room every now and then as they enjoyed each others company. Their homemade pizza was an agreed hit, Larry teasing Y/n about opening a pizzeria in the "depressing, soulless town of Nockfell." As he so poetically put it, gaining a chuckle from Y/n as she shook her head and gathered the plates. "Nah, too much pressure. I would end up either going mental, or getting imprisoned for assualt or disrupting the peace." She stated, making Sal choke on his drink as he laughed.
Larry chuckled, standing to walk over to the sink beside Y/n, Sal trailing behind him and standing on the other side of Y/n to dry the dishes he was handed. "I could see that. Your tall/short ass self diving over a counter ready to beat some asshole with a pizza pan." Larry remarked, ruffling Y/n's hair before grabbing a rag and wiping the table. Y/n laughed as she finished with the dishes, drying her hands before heading towards the landline on the wall, hoping to call her mom.
In the background, Sal and Larry began playing around while trying to keep quiet. The boys' antics made Y/n's present smile begin pulling into a grin as she giggled at the two while waiting for an answer from her mom. In the midst of the rough housing, Larry bumped the table, making it scrape against the floor, the noise startling the two. Larry groaned as he held his side and dramatically hunched over, flipping off a chuckling Y/n and a laughing Sal. "Should be more careful, Lar. You'll hurt my table." Y/n whispered, breaking into giggles when Larry looked up at her in astonishment. "What about your table hurting me?!" Larry whisper yelled, swinging his arms in exaggerated gestures and looking to Sal.
The bluenette shrugged as he laughed, his soft voice broken as he tried to breathe. "Hey man, you gotta respect tables too. You offended it somehow. " Sal stated matter of factly, getting an unamused look from Larry. "You've tainted my Sally Face, Y/n." Larry grumbled as he pouted, making Y/n laugh before she shushed the boys once the phone stopped ringing. Her large smile falling slightly as the call went to voicemail. 'Odd..she always answers. Maybe it's just a busy day..' Y/n thought to herself, her troubled expression not going unnoticed by her companions.
The boys looked at each other with concern before looking at Y/n again. "Hey, everything okay, dude?" Larry asked, looking Y/n in the eye as he approached. "Yeah, you seem worried. You okay, Y/n?" Sal chimed in, gently placing a hand on Y/n's shoulder. Y/n smiled at the two, her eyes still reflecting confusion and worry, but a bit lighter as put her hand over Sal's and accepted Larry's hug. "I'm okay. I'm just..confused, I guess. I tried calling my mom to see how everything was going with her work, but she didn't pick up. Guessing she's just busy and not in." Y/n responded, walking away from the boys and flopping onto the couch.
Larry and Sal looked at each other once more, worry evident as Larry chewed at his lip and Sal gently tugged at a bright blue pigtail. Larry piped up with an idea. "Hmm..Hey, dude, want to just chill out tonight? You and Sal can stay at my place for the night." He proposed, looking to Y/n for an answer. He was sure his mom was going to be curious about Y/n, but he was more concerned about Y/n being alone. He wanted to help keep her mind occupied to, hopefully, help her relax and distract from the worry.
With a hum of thought, Y/n sat up and hung over the back of the couch, her lips pursed as she looked to the side. "Sure, sounds fun. But wouldn't your parents be skeptical? I mean, they've never met me." Y/n asked, ignoring the blood rushing to her head as she didn't want to change position. Larry shook his head confidently, walking over to Y/n and squatting to be at eye level. "Nah, dude. It's just my mom and I on the basement level. She's really laid back. Not sure if you've met her yet, but she's the janitor here." Y/n nodded in acknowledgment, reaching over to mess with Larry's hair as she thought. "As long as she doesn't mind, I'm happy to visit." Y/n stated, her hands moving to Sal who had seated himself against the couch beside Larry. Out of instinct, Sal flinched a bit as he didn't expect the shift of attention. Though upon noticing Y/n immediately move her hand away and apologizing, he felt guilty. "No no, it's alright. I just didn't expect the sudden movement towards me." Sal explained, rubbing the back of his head shyly. "It's okay. I'll just have to be more careful." Y/n responded, sitting up and stretching.
After popping her back, she stood and headed towards her room to change into something slightly more presentable but comfy. She hadn't met Larry's mom yet and really didn't want to have a bad first impression, laid back or not. As she disappeared into her room, the boys looked at each other in confusion as to why she needed to change, but they shrugged and let it go.
Larry put an arm on Sal's shoulder, his weight pushing the smaller boy down slightly. "You gonna make it, Dude? You gotta ask your dad, right?" Larry asked, getting a nod from Sal. "Yeah, but I'm pretty sure he's working tonight, so I should be alright to go. Hoping I do at least. I want to get to know Y/n more." Sal stated, looking to Larry. Larry nodded, wanting to get to know Y/n too. There was this odd feeling he just couldn't shake around her. An intrigue. But, mainly an odd pit that formed.
Dropping his volume, Larry whispered. "Hey, I know this may seem..weird..but, do you feel an odd pit in the stomach around Y/n?" He asked, waiting for an answer as Sal tensed. Hesitantly nodding, he let his thoughts free. "Honestly, yeah..It's weird. I'm comfortable with her, but at the same time I feel out of the loop. Like I'm not seeing everything. Or hearing everything." Sal said, his eye trained on Larry's concerned gaze. "Like she's hiding something. " Both boys said in unison, their eyes focused on Y/n's door. Needless to say, they hoped the feeling was just because they had only just met Y/n L/n. Not because she was someone other than who she said. As the two thought, they smiled at the h/c girl as she stepped out of her room all freshened up. 'Well. Guess we'll see if we learn anything with a fun day with our new friend.' They thought, both boys putting an arm over Y/n's shoulders, the trio seeming like a perfect fit. But, there were secrets that needed to be uncovered.
