Agelast:

A person who never laughs

As the girl walked into her apartment she thought about the conversation she had with her friend. She thought about EJ. She wondered how he was, sure it had only been a day since they had last talked but she really enjoyed talking with him...

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
After putting everything down and taking off her shoes and jacket she grabbed her phone. She made her way to the couch, laying down and resting her feet on one arm of the sofa. She dialed his number, put the phone on speaker, and placed it on the coffee table, leaning back into the sofa.
She didn't expect him to pick up considering it was around 2 am and they had basically just met. He didn't have to pick up in fact, now she felt a bit embarrassed to call him. (Y/n) was about to grab her phone but she heard the ringing stop and Ej's voice on the other end. "Odette? Hey! What's up?"
She smiled, still feeling a bit embarrassed, she retracted her arm, sinking into the sofa. "Hey, did I wake you up..?" she questioned, feeling slightly guilty. "Hah! No. I'm always up late, I'm a bit surprised you're up, though." The girl chuckled, a bit awkwardly still. "Yeah, I usually try to get in bed before..." She checked the clock again, letting it set in, her eyes widening. "3 am..." The y/h woman shook it off, continuing. "I was at a party."
 "...really? No offense you just... Well you don't seem like the type to go to partys. " The girl giggles a bit, undoubtedly making the man on the other end grin. "You're not wrong. My boyfriend wanted me to go. I'm pretty peopled out at the moment but I did want to talk to someone. "
Ej smiled more, knowing he was who she had chosen to call. "Well I'm glad you wanted to talk to me! How was the party? "
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

The two had talked for another hour or so before (Y/n) had started to noticeably become tired. "You seem tired, do you wanna talk again some other time?" ( Y/n) perked up a bit at the offer. "Yeah! Do you... Want to meet up?" Ej clicked one of his tongues at the question. "Are you free this week?" The girl sat up a bit on the sofa, looking across the coffee table at her planner. She took it into her hands flipping through the pages. "I'm pretty busy this week with classes and I have to tutor a few kids... Could we see each other saturday? "

 Jack didn't have much planed, he just wanted to see Odette soon. "Sure, Saturday works for me! What do you want to do?" Odette thought for a moment . "There's a nice cafe near my appartment." She chuckled a bit. " some of my friends work there so don't be surprised if you end up getting teased by some of the staff. "

He laughed at (Y/n)'s warning, now making her smile. "Sounds good. Does noon work?" The girl thought for a moment, starring off at a wall. "...Mmhm!" Ej couldn't stop smiling at the sound of her voice, the thought of seeing her again. "Okay so, Saturday at noon?" He repeated back to the girl. "Yep!" " And you'll text me the adress? " "mhm!"

Ej smiled, shifting a bit, still holding the telephone in the same horizontal position. "Alright! I'll see you then. You should really get some sleep though. You sound wiped." The girl laughed at his tone. "Yeah yeah, I'll go to bed. It was nice talking to you though. See you soon." Her thumb hovered over the end call button when she heard a soft, sweet response. "See you soon, (Y/n)."

 When she hung up Jack held the phone in his hand smiling at the screen before dropping it on the bed next to him. He laid back on the bed with his arms spread out next to him. Everything about her was perfect, that was something all her admirers  could agree upon. Just her name dripping off his tongues felt like heaven. The way she spoke was fluid and calming. He never laughed but hearing her happy and giggling couldn't help but make him chuckle. That laugh of hers brought  a smile to the demon's face that almost nothing could wipe away. He turned his head now facing his mask and the pair of sunglasses sitting on the nightstand beginning to imagine what the Saturday to come would look like.

Y/N POV:

I held my phone in my hand smiling, though I was incredibly tired. I walked to my bedroom, pushing the door open. I nearly crashed onto my bed. I was laying down with my face buried into the matress. After a minute or two I looked up, proping myself up onto one of my elbows and grabbing my phone with my spare hand.

Odette

When I didn't get a response I assumed he was already asleep and clicked out of the conversation with Brayden. I'm my recent messages I saw Kai's contact and thought about telling them about my plans with Ej.
