When I didn't get a response I assumed he was already asleep and clicked out of the conversation with Brayden. I'm my recent messages I saw Kai's contact and thought about telling them about my plans with Ej.

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
They're gonna make fun of you... It would be better for them to make fun of you now than make fun of you in front of Jack
I battled out the different outcomes in my head. Eventually, I decided. I would tell Kai tomorrow before class.  Said and done, no going back now.
I grabbed their arm, tugging on it, pulling off to the side of the hallway. Kai looked at me with a raised brow. "I have to tell you something." They thought for less than a second before speaking way too seriously. "You're fucking our professor to get an A in-" They didn't get to finish their sentence before I interrupted. "I'm being serious you fucking idiot!" They smiled at me. "I am too." We both burst out laughing before they spoke up again. "Okay- okay, go on. What did you actually have to say?" I took a deep breath before speaking. "Well... I'm going to the cafe Saturday..." They nodded, knowing I go to the cafe every Saturday. "And I'm bringing the guy I met at the library."
Their eyes lit up. "Are you finally leaving Brayden?!" I glared at them. "It's not like that!!" They smirked at me, speaking in a teasing tone. "That blush says otherwise..." My eyes widened and I rushed my hands to my face feeling my cheeks. They started laughing. "I was joking 'Dette!" I groaned, now genuinely blushing slightly walking off. I heard them shout from behind me. "We're talking about this tonight!"
I was ready to head to the cafe, it was perfect. I was really excited to just, talk to someone else. I might have only known Ej for a few days, but he already seemed like someone I could really be honest with. It's not like I don't already have Kai to vent to but... sometimes I just get worried that they'll grow tired of my constant ranting. Spreading it out amongst people in the future might ease that fear. Plus, he seemed like a nice guy. Like I would enjoy his company!
I got a bit nervous that something would go wrong so I sent him a text to ease my anxiety.
