𝕿𝑯𝑬𝒀 𝑾𝑬𝑹𝑬 𝑻𝑨𝑲𝑬𝑵 120KM AWAY TO A HYDRA WEAPONS FACTORY IN KREISCHBERG, AUSTRIA, WHERE THEY WERE CHECKED OVER ONCE MORE AND SEPARATED INTO CAGES ACCORDING TO THEIR NATIONALITY AND OTHER FACTORS. Raymond had been right in guessing that his regiment wasn't the only to be brought to its knees by HYDRA and taken prisoner. The factory was flooded with soldiers from all over the world; some looking a bit worse for wear. The HYDRA men that had snatched them from Azzano had told them that they should be appreciative.
Like hell they are.
"What is the point of this?" Dugan implored on one of the gloomy days, annoyed and bored out of his mind like the rest of them were as he and the other men moped around the bars of their cages.
Raymond was the one to answer. He hadn't spoken all that much since their initial arrival. The only person he spoke to was Bucky, which no one found surprising as the Barnes boy was presently sat beside him; head leaned back to rest tiredly against the uncomfortable steel bars as he coughed. "They're hoping we turn into bickering hodgepodge." He stated, all of the men sending him a questioning look. "They divided us from our nationalities --part of the reason we're here in the first place -- hoping that it would make us target each other."
"They just want to see us fight like animals." Gabe nodded in agreement, standing beside Dugan before giving up his pacing and retiring to a wall.
"Well, they sure did a good job proving that with the cages." James Montgomery, one of their cellmates grumbled from the corner, his hat concealing most of his face as he looked down.
With time, everyone has somewhat gotten to know one another in each cell. Raymond didn't know everyone, but he knew the main people with who he now technically lived and was imprisoned with.
Obviously, there was Bucky, Dugan -- who Raymond had only just now learned was thirty-one, born April 11th 1912 -- and Gabe, who was only a few months younger than Raymond at age twenty-four on August 14th, 1918.
Then, you had Jacques "Frenchie" Dernier, French Resistance, born January 2, 1911. He lived in Marseilles before the War and talked highly of the place before he was captured and brought here.
And finally, there was Major James Montgomery "Monty" Falsworth, born January 2, 1914, of the British 3rd Independent Parachute Brigade. He was from Birmingham, England and wore a beret on his head with a pin of the English flag to nod to that. Jim Morita, a prisoner who wasn't in the same cage as the men but was quite the talker, even gave him the nickname "Union Jack" for fun.
