𝕽𝑨𝒀𝑴𝑶𝑵𝑫 𝑭𝑶𝑺𝑺𝑼𝑴 𝑨𝑾𝑶𝑲𝑬 TO HIS BODY BEING MOVED, SWAYING SLIGHTLY WHILE A CHORUS OF MASCULINE VOICES REACHED HIS EARS AS HE CAME TO. An array of trees accompanied by a light, open sky greeted him and his dilated pupils, stunning him for a moment after being deprived of general nature for so long. The air was fresh and no longer suffocating. The trees replaced the man-made machinery that had engulfed in flames the last time he was awake, and the open air brought a welcoming coolness to his skin.

"We'll stop here for tonight. We'll start moving again early morning. We don't want to overwork ourselves."

Steve? Raymond mused in thought as he felt his body being gently turned and put down, whoever carrying him relaxing. The Fossum boy shifted in his wake, the mild pressure on his body startling him at first until he made out the warm, cosy force of two human hands that kept him in place against a pair of unwound legs that were relieved of any tension when they sat down. "Mhm, Steve?"

"Not quite."

The voice with the familiar edge drew out Raymond's blue eyes from their closed position of rest. Staring isn't quite the word Raymond would use when they met gazes with one another, though he fit the dictionary definition to a tee. His eyes rest on Bucky's, not unblinking but slowed; yet the effect is soft and inviting instead of harsh and cold. Perhaps it is his friend's lips that give away his intention, not quite smiling but tilting as if they mean to.

Bucky was glad to see the boy in his arms finally awake and well, comprehending his surroundings. "Hey, there, Ray." He greeted gently so as to not overwhelm him, fingers dancing along the tendrils of his hair as he moved some sweaty locks back from his heated forehead. "Glad you finally decided to join us. You had me worried back there."

"Where are we?" Raymond mumbled tiredly, shifting in the hold to sit up. He was still relatively weak from his treatment back in HYDRA, resulting in him needing some support from the Barnes boy, who held him up without even needing to be prompted as he moved from lying across his lap to sitting beside him, keeping his distance.

"Steve is meant to be taking us all back to his camp. Well, technically not his camp but . . . he did a show there." Bucky explained, shrugging as over four hundred men encircled them in rest, all looking equally as drowsy and drained as they did. He noticed the distance between him and his friend, frowning but not speaking on it. Raymond probably didn't even realise, he thought. "We're taking it slow. We'll be there in a few days."
