"Wanna play a game?" Yangyang asked the older. He and Renjun had been skipping their Public Speaking course together. Renjun's back rested against a tree on the quad, the sunlight hitting his cheeks between the leaves. "Mmm, what is it?" He asked, his eyes closed. While he sat beside the brunette, Yangyang pretended to work while Renjun rested but he couldn't help but stare at him. He was like a siren. So beautiful, he drew people in with his angelic appearance and charm... only to lead them to their fucking doom. "Gay chicken?" Renjun's eyes opened so he could flash Yangyang a confused look, his eyebrow cocked up slightly. "Elaborate."
Yangyang put his notebook to the side, moving closer to Renjun so he could hover over him. "Who can be gayer with the other in public?" Typically, it was a game played with men to bring their faces close enough to kiss and whoever pulled away first was considered the chicken, but the blond was seeking to play in a different way. A gayer way. "Sounds stupid, Liu," Renjun spat.
"If you're scared just say that. I understand, Huang."
Renjun's eyes darted from the younger's eyes to his lips. "Why would I be scared?" Yangyang smirked in response, tilting his head cockily. "You're scared to catch feelings for me. I can understand that. I've been told I'm quite irresistible after all-"A loud cackle released itself from Renjun's lips. Never in his twenty-one years of living did he ever catch feelings for his fuck buddies. Hell, not even his frequent ex-boyfriends could tie him down. He wasn't a romanticist. In fact, he thought it was so incredibly stupid. Maybe it was because he never had seen love be shared in his life. Not even his parents loved each other. They never kissed or touched each other softly. Most parents would tell their kids they were made through love, but Renjun's saw his birth through the eyes of a business deal. They needed an successor for when his father passed. "You're so cute when you think you mean anything to me, Liu."
Yangyang smiled in response to the insult, pressing his lips to Renjun's softly. Neither cared who saw. Yangyang mostly because no one payed attention to him. Renjun mostly because, even if people saw him kissing Yangyang, boys like Mark Lee would still be lining up to convince him to meet them in the Scientific Theses section of the University Library to hook up.
While Yangyang's provocation was a simple kiss on the lips, Renjun sought out to make sure he had this shit in the bag. As his family was one of the wealthiest in China, Renjun often was required to tend parties with his mother and father. These parties were a chance for he and his parents to develop connections in case they had favors needed. It's the same way he met Chenle and Jisung. Zhong Chenle, born from a family with old money and loved chatting people up at parties. Park Jisung, a child actor and model who was too quiet for his own good, but, just like Renjun, his parents hoped to keep his career alive through parties. The three naturally grouped together. While Chenle and Jisung were closer than Renjun was with both of them, he was the leader they needed. He didn't care that he had an image to upkeep. He said and did what he wanted.
He wasn't always the two's favorite person though. Renjun could be vile towards them if he wasn't in the mood. Chenle could recall one moment where Renjun had been in a fight with his father and Jisung, being the kindhearted friend he was, offered to have their fathers talk to hopefully take some issues off the eldest's shoulders. Although it wasn't the best idea, the youngest truly had no ill intentions behind the idea. But Renjun didn't see it that way. The conversation ended with Jisung in tears and Chenle walking him out of Renjun's bedroom to leave the house altogether. Renjun never did address how he treated Jisung that day. They also weren't particularly fond of Renjun at the social club parties. He'd repeatedly pregame in hopes to get so fucked up he wouldn't have to remember seeing his father's face for the morning after. Every time, it ended in disaster. Chenle would try to suggest Renjun get help and Renjun would insist he didn't have a problem. However, Renjun doesn't remember how those night end with him crying in Chenle and Jisung's arms, telling them how he wished he could be a better person.
