The four of you started going towards your beloved town's gates. That's when you realized that your team's numbers were off: Paimon went missing.
"Paimon, where are you?" Aether asked. "We want to go, hurry and get here!"
But she didn't reply. So you started to search. Aether went to look at the cathedral, Bennett went towards the winery and you started searching near good hunter. But you didn't have to search for long.
Paimon was eating some almond tofu at one of the tables.
"Nothing is better than a good breakfast!" she said. You rushed there, paid for her food, grabbed her by the collar and went back to inform the others you found the hungry little floating girl.
"Hey, put me down! I still wanted to finish that!" she started throwing a tantrum.
"Do you know what time is it? It's past our meeting time! When do you think we'll arrive now?" you snapped at her. He crossed her arms around in front of her chest and pouted. You just wanted to slap her and make her apologise, but you held your anger back.
When you finally found the guys it was already 11 a.m., and you were worried about the four of you arriving on time. But eventually, you began your adventure.
"What are we going to do when we get there?" Bennett asked with excitement in his eyes.
"Probably sleep, thanks to a little parasyte we have" you said sarcastically.
"Eek, parasyte?! Where?! Get rid of it!" Paimon shreeked. You and Aether just rolled your eyes. You wanted to tell Paimon you meant her, when suddenly you heard a thud. It was Bennett, again. An apple fell on his head.
"Oh, an apple! How lucky!" he quickly picked up the fruit and wolfed it down. The three of you just stood there, staring.
"What is it?" he asked. "Come on guys, we don't wanna be even more late than we already are!"
He had a point. It was already past 1 p.m., and you were far from the finish line. But luckily, there were no obstacles on the road.
Your journey went swiftly, until you stopped to take a rest.
"Whew, I'm not used to travelling such lengths by foot." you said. You were really exhausted, and you wished nothing else but to finally arrive. You were getting closer and closer to Wangshu Inn, and it was a good sign.
"Umm, Y/N, can you please give me that water bottle?" Bennett asked.
"But don't you have one too?" you answered the boy, confusion written all over your face.
"Ehehe, the thing is, I... Lost it." he looked dissapointed. Poor guy, having this bad luck.
"Here" you offered him your bottle. "You can drink mine, I bought 3 bottles anyways."
"Wowie, thanks, Y/N! You're a life saver! " he started drinking the water. You gave him a smile, then continued your food as well.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~Time skip~~~~~~~~~~~~~
You finally arrived. You felt like your legs will come off, and you were barely able to keep your eyes open. The time was past midnight, but to your luck, you found someone who could bring you to your rooms.
"Finally, some rest!" you said and jumped onto your bed. It didn't take too long for you to fall asleep.
Everyone else went into their own rooms too. Aether and Bennett shared a room on the same floor as you. The three of you were neighbours. Paimon felt comfy next to Aether, so she also took the same room as them. You were the only one who was sleeping alone.
But by now you got used to it. You have always been on your own, since you didn't know your parents, nor any relatives. The only one that was once close to you was an old friend. He had white hair with brown eyes, almost green, and a stunning smile. Altought he was a lot older than you, he could've been your father, he was the only one that you held close to your heart. He also looked a lot similar to Bennett. Maybe that was the reason you seeked his company so much.
Bennett couldn't sleep. Although Aether was a quiet sleeper, the same thing didn't apply for Paimon. She kept talking about food receipts in her dream, and sometimes letting a few snores go too. It was honestly annoying the white haired boy. After an hour or so, he decided to go to your room hoping you weren't sleeping yet.
He quietly opened the door that led into your room, and he peeked in. You were already asleep. The moon shined upon you, which made you even more stunning. Bennett couldn't take his eyes off of you. Your H/C hair was in your face, but not covering your eyes. Bennett slowly started to approach you, not looking away. He stopped next to your bed and kneeled down. He carefully put your hair behind your ear, so he could see all of your face.
"She truly is beautiful" he quietly said to himself. He put his hand on top of yours, still staring at your face. His expression slowly became sad. His other hand slowly cupped your face, then he planted a kiss on your cheeks.
"Sleep well, princess." he said, as he let go of your face and hand then walked away. That night he wasn't able to fall asleep, all he could think about was you.
