The next morning you woke up. As soon as you've realized it was the day of the festival you've been waiting for, you quickly sat up and went to the window. You could already see the commotion, and some people with food or toy in their hands.
You quickly did you bed, dressed up, brushed your hair and cleaned up then ran down onto the street. But you weren't the only one that was as excited as you.
"Look, Bennett, what do you think that is? It's so pretty!" you said, grabbing the boy's arm and pointing at some kind of toy.
"Hmm, good question. Maybe it is a balloon?" he said.
"No, dummies, even Paimon knows what that is. It's a lantern!" Paimon said. You looked once more at the lantern. It really was pretty.
"Come on, Y/N, let's go! The festival is waiting for us!" Bennett hurried you, and then followed his lead.
The city was full with colours. You could see food stalls everywhere, some toys here and there, minigames and a lot more interesting stuff. You wanted to see everything.
The first thing that caught your eye was a lantern. A beautiful one with a dragon pattern on it. You fell in love with it, and you immediately bought it.
"Bennett, look what I found!" you showed the boy your lantern.
"Woooow, it's beautiful!" he said.
"But not as beautiful as you" you flirted with the boy, which caught him off guard. He started bkuching heavily. You noticed, and gave him a peck on his cheek.
"Come, let's get you one too." you smiled, leading the now tomato red boy.
He actually couldn't decide which one he should buy. All of the lanterns were dazzling. At last he chose a fire patterned one, because his element was fire as well.
Now that both of you have chosen lanterns, it was time to eat. But there was too much to choose from. One stall offered tiger fish, the other chicken-mushroom skewers, the third some desserts. Everything looked delicious, and you ended up eating from everything. Now you felt like you were Paimon.
"I didn't know you could eat this much." Bennett said. He was clearly surprised on how much you ate, you stuffed more into yourself than what Paimon did.
"Everything looked so delicious, I just couldn't choose. Also, you're one to talk. You also ate an enernous amount of food yourself." you pointed it. It was true though, Bennett ate almost as much as you, leaving the little floating girl in the dust.
The next place you went to was a flower shop.
"Umm, Y/N, what kind of flowers do you like?" Bennett asked.
"Hmmm, let me think. I really like F/F. But why do you ask?" then Bennett went up to the sales lady and bought the said flower.
"This is for you, milady." he offered you the flower. This kind of action left you speechless, all you could do was hold the flower and scent it. It smelled just like him.
You enjoyed your flower a little bit more, then you hugged Bennett.
"Thank you, I appreciate it." you finally said. Bennett just smiled at you, before holding your hand and leading you towards abother stall.
Hours went by, and you were almost done looking through everything. There were some stalls where you went alone, but you visited most of them with Bennett. You really enjoyed it, it meant more to you than anything in the world.
When the clock hit eight p.m., everyone gathered at one place. It was time to let go of the lanterns. Everyone lit up their own lanterns, then let them fly freely in the sky. You and Bennett did the same thing with your lanterns.
The sight was beautiful. There were no clouds on the sky, you could see the stars clearly. As the lanterns flew higher and higher they slowly started to look like they were really brightly glowing stars too.
As you were watching the lanterns go up, you felt a hand sliding into yours. It was Bennett's. His hands were warm compared to yours, and you gladly held it tightly as the two of you continued watching the floating little things fly into the unknown.
When you were done watching, you went to watch a few night time shows. They were truly exciting too, but what you really waited for was the midnight firework show. It was only half an hour away, so you decided to take Bennett to a place you could see it clearly from.
You picked out a place on the grass. You positioned yourself on the ground, and Bennett also sat down next to you. As you were waiting, you got a small gift out of your pocket.
"Bennett?" you turned over to the boy.
"Yes?" he asked gently. You showed him the small gift, and he took it from you.
"Thank you. But what is it?" he asked.
"Open it and you'll see." you smiled at him. The boy did as you said. The small box contained a beautiful horseshoe. It was truly dazzling.
"I thought that maybe this would turn your bad luck around, if only just a little." you looked at the ground, then into his eyes "I hope it is to your liking"
The boy smiled at you once more, then put the gift back into its box and gave it into your hands.
"Thanks, Y/N, but I don't need it." he said, then out his hands on top of yours. "I think I've already found my lucky charm" he said, as he leaned in to kiss you. The minute he did so, the first firework was shoot onto the nightsky, but you couldn't care. All you could feel was Bennett's soft lips upon yours, his hand on yours and the bond you felt towards him.
And You could finally say: this was the luckiest thing that has ever happened to you.
