Ch. 22 " Barfight"

" Hey! You nearly killed me there!" Juno joked

Tendou's eyes widened a bit as she then gave a weak punch on Juno's chest as she smiled.

" It ain't my fault you snuck up on me! Idiot!" Tendou giggled.

Juno sat on the seat beside Tendou as he placed his knapsack on his lap.

" Sorry, sorry."

" What will you have?" The Bartender asked Juno.

" Some beer would be nice."

" Gotcha, one beer," The bartender repeated.

" You just finished a mission?" Tendou asked as she sipped her beer.

" Yep. What about you?" Juno thanked the bartender as she placed a mug in front of him.

" We're gonna be in Kyoto for a week, so Master didn't have us go on a mission for a while." 

" That's nice. What are you two gonna do in Kyoto anyway?"

" I don't clearly know. It's just some extermination, probably." 

Tendou looked at the headset around Juno's neck.

" You have your walkman? Why did you bring your walkman during the job?"

" Entertainment. And I just bought Mr. Blue sky, so I wanted something to listen to it while killing zombies. You want to hear it?" Juno asked as he pulled out his walkman.

" I can't speak English, so no," Tendou giggled.

" Alright then."

From the corner of her eye, like she wasn't creepily watching Juno's every move like a creep, She saw that it was her playlist inside the walkman. She smiled as she knew that Juno enjoyed her playlist. This means they both had common interests. She also knew that, but it made her happy about it.

" Where's Kurose-chan?" Juno asked.

" He found a girl to hit on," Tendou pointed to her side.

Juno leaned on the table and searched a bit. He then saw Kurose, ten seats away from them talking to a lady the same age as them wearing a black dress. She had that rich girl vibe. Juno thought about calling out to Kurose, but they were having a nice time and he thought against it. He also thought about helping Kurose, but Tendou would be left alone. And he trusts Kurose to be able to score some points. 

" They seem to be having fun."

" Yep." Tendou sipped beer again. " So how was the job?"

" It was okay. Mission accomplish. Nothing that noteworthy to talk about. Although, we got new members at the 4th."

" Really? They humans or devils?"

" Two devils and two devilmen."

" That's nice..."

" We also have a week off. With all the shit that happened, the higher-ups had us lay low for a while."

"Awww~ You lucky bastards, you get a week off while we work our ass off," Tendou joked.

" It's not really a week off, we still have to patrol here and there."

" Hmmm..." Tendou sips her mug again.

Juno and Tendou continued to drink and talk about other things. Mainly about their jobs, missions, daily life, etc...Tendou got hungry so she ordered some sashimi and teriyaki, and despite her protests, Juno paid for it. The two shared some laughs while drinking. Although It had a bit of silence here and there, with Juno or Tendou breaking the silence with an awkward joke or just random statements. I mean, What did you expect from two awkward introverts that only talk to people they knew.
