"Yesterday" "an answer I like to hear. Let's go sort this paperwork then you are free to go" "I feel like I am in trouble" I chuckled "you will be if you stuff me around" "no thanks".
Entering the office I closed the door.
"A thousand a week. Are you happy with that?" "Definitely" I grinned "okay".
Handing Ethan the contract he sat back reading over the contract before nodding "can I please have a pen?" "Sure" handing him the pen he signed his name then handed both back to me. "Welcome to the team Ethan. Your hours start at seven thirty. You need to start the ride thirty minutes before eight so I expect you to be on time" "of course" I grinned then stood up. "I will introduce you to who you need to deal with in the office, if there is ever an issue and I am not here" he nodded.
Walking out I spoke. "Ethan this is beau, tommy, troy, Brit and you have already met matt. Guys this is Ethan as of tomorrow he will be running the log ride" "nice to meet you man" "thanks you too" "happy to have a fresh face. No need for that jacket though" Ethan chuckled "I know but thanks for the tip" as everyone introduced themselves Lucas walked in. "Ethan this is Lucas. Lucas this is Ethan" "hey" "hi man" "alright now that's out of the way, I will let you get out of here" handing him my card he spoke "for emergencies?" "Correct but as i said you can speak to any one in here" "thanks. See you all tomorrow. And April thank you" I grinned as I shook his hand "see you when I see you". Ethan walked out and I walked back into the office. Taking a seat the door opened and Matt walked in closing the door behind him.
"You didn't tell me you were hiring someone new?" "Brenton will be helping me with the resort remember. He can't do both" "okay maybe you did mention it. What has been going on April?" "I had shit to do" matt sat down "I get that but why so distant?" "I'm not being distant I have needed a break" "that much you locked your gates and I couldn't enter" sitting back I looked at matt "yes. Not just you, Everyone" "hmm I'm not believing that. First you remove Adam from your premises with in a day.." "wait weren't you the one telling me he shouldn't be there?" "Yes but we resolved that issue, so why the hell did you remove him so quick" "it wasn't quick it was past due. I did everything in the time I had off while I had the chance" "so it has nothing to with Adam befriending Lucas" "what has that got to do with me wanting some privacy" "privacy? Bullshit April. As soon as he invited him to your place things changed. You became distant or is it because of Brenton? is he pulling you away. Roping you in like he has it around your neck" "whoa back the fuck up. It has nothing to do with anyone Bar myself. I needed a break and wanted some privacy" "I'm not believing that for second. I Know you. I also know you have a lot of shit going on but it's not an excuse" seeing the door open. Brit popped her head in. "April can we chat?" "Of course now or in private?" "Now is fine" I nodded and she walked in.
"I can hear you two from out there" "sorry I've just had a lot on my plate, I'm a bit frustrated but I'm good" "she's lying through her ass" "I heard you have needed a break?" "Yeah just wrapping my head around everything, having Time to think" "personally I think it's great but don't push us away please" "I promise" she grinned whereas matt shook his head "she has changed" "she did the same about the same time last year" "I don't mean to make you guys feel like I am pushing you out. Sometimes I just need my own time" "you let Lucas back in?" "He is working here yes" Brit nodded "have you spoke with him?" "I haven't needed to" "not in regards to work but personally?" "Nope" "that's your problem" looking at matt he spoke further "he is friends with Adam now and you can't handle it" "why can't I?" "Because he is pulling Adam away..." "What that's what you think?" "I think I am correct" "that's where you are wrong. I didn't even know those two have been hanging out. I haven't really seen adam either. It's his choice" "but you are pissed" "no. it's not my life. Is there anything we need to speak about in regards to work. I have to put this paperwork on the laptop then speak with Tommy" "no" "no but as long as you are okay" I winked at Brit "I'm good" she grinned "we are having drinks soon I hope" "one day soon definitely" Brit walked out then matt stood up "I will find out and when I do we'll talk" I had no idea what he was talking about before I could reply he walked out and Tommy walked in closing the door.
"The new guy huh?" "Yeah Brenton is going to help me with the resort details so I needed to find a replacement. Can you organise to have him on the books as of tomorrow please" "already started" I grinned "I knew I hired you for a reason" he chuckled. "Why is matt pissed off?" Rolling my eyes tommy smirked "I don't know. he thinks I am pushing all you guys away just because I have needed some alone time. He also said to me it's because of Brenton, he believes he is controlling me" tommy shook his head "not likely. you know how to handle everyone" I chuckled "can't help it" tommy had a cheeky grin on his face "speaking of Brenton" I shook my head "he has been great tommy" "glad to hear it. I can see he is making you happier" "I took him to meet Zane yesterday" tommy had a gentle smile on his face "he must mean something to you" I nodded "how did it go?" "He was sweet.  He didn't judge me for the way I spoke to Zane like I'm some crazy woman. He even told me Zane would be proud" "I can see it April, he really cares about you. He always speaks highly of you to" I couldn't help but smile "I know".
Seeing the door open tommy smirked "speak of the devil" when Brenton walked in he closed the door "talking about me huh?" "Just saying how annoying you are thats why I am firing you" Brenton and Tommy both laughed "I better get back to work I will speak with you later" "sounds good".
"Why were you speaking about me?" "Nothing bad well not with Tommy anyway" "then who?" I raised my eye brows and brenton shook his head "the one who tried to visit?" "Yep" "doesn't like me?" "He does. He's just trying to find out information and can't get it so he got angry" Brenton smirked "no surprise with you. Why are you still here anyway not that I'm disappointed" "because people want to chat. I would've been out of here by now if they didn't" "well leave" "rude" Brenton chuckled "you didn't bring food for lunch?" "Nah I got distracted" "let's go I will get you a feed before I head off" "April that's not necessary" "yes it is now come on" "bossy" "yep need to make sure you are eating".

"What do you want?" "I'm happy with anything" "tahlia can I have one of those baguettes please" "of course" tahlia handed me a baguette and I handed it to Brenton "here" "thanks tahlia" "welcome" "thanks" "it's alright.
