Parties were never my thing. Too many people and I stick out like a sore thumb. Even though the suit covers most of my robotic body, it never stops people from staring.

But this isn't about me, not this time. Today we're after one man. His name is Takahashi Ogami.

Normally I leave annoying rich guys like him to my team, usually Maki as she's the best at getting the job done quickly and cleanly, but this guy made it personal. He hurt my family. Rantaro came back with a gunshot wound and Kaede was covered in minor wounds. His men left Kokichi with a broken nose and Miu with a broken arm. I wanted to kill him with my own two hands, watch his pathetic life leave his eyes. I'll make sure to hurt him just as much as he hurt my family.

Lucky for me, my face is off the streets. I keep everything I do in the shadows. My existence is nothing more than a whisper on people's lips. No one knows what I look like, nor what I sound like except for a select few.

I scanned over the crowd of people, almost gritting my teeth when I didn't see him immediately. Of course he's hiding in the back, waiting to make a grand appearance. People like him thrive off of attention and what better way to earn people's praise than to throw such a spectacular ball where everything was perfect and in place?

"Boss," a quiet voice hissed beside me, embarrassment clearly laced into it. "We should do something other than stand and stare, we'll look suspicious."

Shuichi Saihara. My secretary of sorts. He keeps tabs on every target and everyone we meet. Any job we have, he is the first to know about it. He keeps track of all the numbers and makes sure we are always on budget. He's very useful for a plethora of reasons, a good ally for myself and the family.

He's a sweet soul, a man with a good heart. I don't fully know what pushed him to join our family, but whatever it was, it must've been severe. It's incredible really. He's been with the family for around 6 years now and yet he hasn't let his job taint and corrupt him. He can still hardly shoot a gun and while his hands aren't spotless thanks to the dirty money he has received, they will never be tainted with the blood of another. It's both poetic and devastating.

I could tell he was nervous. For once he didn't have his trusty iPad with him. That was one factor behind his anxiety. The large crowd, rich building, and my sharp gaze did little to ease him which is why I eventually looked away. I needed him to be on guard and watching, not cowering under my sight.

"I don't see why we should interact. We have one goal here and fun isn't in the schedule." My response was cold and calculating per usual, eyes already focused elsewhere and planning millions of different ways to get where I needed to be.

I didn't plan on staying any longer than I had to, but was it the best idea to sneak deeper into the house? There was a high chance that we'd be caught. Almost 70% thanks to how much security this guy had. He knew we were looking for him with murderous intent.

But killing him in front of hundreds of people was off the table. I wasn't in the mood for a massacre. Chaos wasn't my forte, I preferred getting things done without prying eyes. But don't misunderstand. Just because I don't enjoy calamity, that does not make me merciful. I already had calculated ways of torture locked away in my head that I couldn't wait to test out on this son of a bitch.

A distraction could always work, but that would require someone like Kaito or Kokichi. I didn't have either on me. One was healing and the other was out on a different job. Besides, they weren't exactly the best on undercover missions like this. They drew more attention than I did.

With all this pondering in my head, I felt a soft hand settle on my wrist and trace down to my palm. One gentle tap, then two, then a third.

We were being watched, by three men.
