Entrance Exam

Katsumi POV

Today is the day I finally get to go to the UA entrance Exam. I got ready really fast and picked up an apple for breakfast on my way out the door. My best friend, Shinso, also wants to go to UA so we decided to meet up at the park we met at for the first time when we were kids and where we became friends. I was kind of early because I was stressing out about it and I couldn't sleep very well, I think I might be catching 'Toshi's insomnia. I decided that I would stop by a cafe before we meet up to get us some coffee so I ordered a large black coffee for 'Toshi and a medium cold brew for me. I quickly made it to the park to see him sitting on the swing set. I called out for him and he looked over and smiled slightly at the coffee in my hands. I handed him his cup and we got up to start the walk to school. On the way there we talked about what we thought the Exam was going to be. "Well I'm pretty sure they'll be putting us against each other to gauge our fighting skills and quirks" He said "I hate to break it to you but I'm pretty sure that in past years they've just used robots, so unless you just have wishful thinking I dont think your quirk will fare very well unless it counts to get other people to do it for you, which might work" before we knew it we had arrived at the gates and started heading to the introduction area. Once we got there we immediately occupied two chairs in the far back corner and started observing the people around us. After a little while the pro hero that I recognized to be Presentation Michael started telling us about how the Exam would go. I immediately saw 'Toshi's face fall at the prospect that he wouldn't be able to control the robots so I nudged him and whispered a few strategies to him like the brainwashing people to do it for him maybe. He smiled and thanked me but I don't think he's feeling very confident anymore. After a few minutes and a minute interruption from a tall guy with navy blue hair, we headed into the changing rooms to get ready for the practical part of the exam. I headed out to the area I was supposed to be in and was now wearing athletic shorts and an open back athletic tank top. As I headed up to the gates I noticed Midoria, I kind of knew that Katsuki would bully him and on the rare occasion that he hurt him I would help Midoria to the nurse. I was going to talk to him because I didn't know anybody else but I decided against it and eventually I heard the announcement for us to start.
When we started I wasted no time running in, because my lung capacity is really good because of my training I wasn't very tired when I ran into the first robots. As soon as I saw then I made gas and ignited it in a string to take down a lot of them at the same time. I was racking up points relativity quickly when I saw the zero pointer that was mentioned before. As I headed over to it to see the damage I saw Midoria take it down with one punch, although it looked like his arm was broken. I ran over as fast as I could to help him but he was caught by a girl with short, brown hair. I saw a few other people caught under the rubble or with minor injuries and helped them because I figured that I already had enough points. Soon enough I had gotten everybody out that needed help and the exam was over. I headed to change back quickly and catch up to 'Toshi. It wasn't hard to spot him considering how freakishly tall he is and his hair looks like a truffula tree. I caught up to him to try to cheer him up because I knew he would be feeling down after the exam. "Hey, it's ok. Just because you might not be able to fight off a robot, doesn't mean you can't be a hero. There are plenty of heroes that don't exactly have physical quirks but they still help people." I tried cheering him up but-"Thanks, but I think I'm just gonna go home now. Bye, Katsumi." He walked off towards his house and left me standing there still trying to understand what I could do to help, but he didn't even call me firecracker or Kat like he usually does. I stood there for a few minutes before I was approached by a boy with black hair and red eyes. "Hey, are you ok? You seem sad about something." He said "Oh, it's nothing. My friend is just kind of upset that he thinks he didn't pass the exam and I don't know how to make him feel better."
"Well I'm sure he can't be upset for too long if he has a friend like you there for him!" He said excitedly "Thanks, I hope you can get in so I can see you in class."
"Yep. See you in class." He said before walking away. Well that was interesting, at least he seems nice.
I decided to head home now to see how Katsuki was doing since I haven't seen him today. Once I got home I saw Katsuki sitting on the couch in front of the TV so I decided to sit in one of the recliners and see what he was watching. Unfortunately that didn't last very long before he started questioning me. "Where the hell were you? You didn't even wait for me to walk you to UA but you never go anywhere alone." "Oh, yeah. I walked there with 'Toshi." "You didn't sleep did you? You're never up earlier than me." "Thanks for caring about me but I can take care of myself, there's no need for you to concern yourself with my wellbeing. I can take care of myself." "Fine, but don't come crying to me when you feel like crap because you don't take care of yourself." "Okay MoM, I'll be training if anybody needs me." "Whatever"
I trained for a few hours before I got a call on my phone. I picked it up to see that it was Shinso, "Hello?" "Hi, Kat. I wanted to talk to you about earlier, are you busy?" "I just finished up training if you want to talk." "Perfect, could you meet me at our park in 30?" "Sure, I'll be right there." "Okay, bye" "Bye."
I quickly took a shower and got dressed to head out to the park. As I was running out I grabbed an apple because I didn't eat lunch and it was now 4 PM. I walked down to the park and waited for Shinso on the swing set. After a few minutes of waiting he arrived and sat down on the swing next to me. "So, what did you want to talk about?" "I wanted to apologize for earlier, I didn't mean to take it out on you, I was just really upset because now I'm probably going to get stuck in general studies." "It's ok 'Toshi, I know how much you wanted to be in the hero course. Maybe you still can be, I'm sure that eventually they'll see how stupid their Exam system was and you might even be able to join the hero course." "Thanks Kat, I'll look into that." "No problem. Now, have you been sleeping or are you still disregarding your wellbeing as always." "I'll take crap from you about taking care of myself when you start eating a healthy amount of food for the amount of training you do." "How did you know about that?" "I saw you eating an apple this morning, which I assume was your breakfast, and you're eating another one now and judging by the time you wouldn't be eating that if you ate lunch." "I am perfectly fine, thank you very much." "Yeah, and I get a normal amount of sleep." "Fine, be that way" I gave him a solid pout before he started laughing at me. "Okay, stop pouting. I just wanted to make sure you're not getting back into old habits." "I told you, I still take the pills so there's no way for me to be anorexic again, it makes me physically sick if I dont eat enough food." "Okay, I'll try to get a healthy amount of sleep since you held up your end of our self care deal." "Okay, I'm going to go home and make dinner, see you around 'Toshi." "See you around Kat."
