The King of Red Lions turned his hardened stare back at his two traveling companions. His eyes then became focused upon the kitsune. "He wanted me to return to his side ... I denied him," you whispered sadly. Link gazed at you silently unsure of how to respond. The King sighed appearing grave. "I understand this may be a heavy burden for you to bear Y/N, " he stated solemnly. All of a sudden you became overwhelmed with dizziness and fever; you collapsed onto the wooden deck hacking up a storm. Link rushed to your side. "Y/n are you all right?" he asked desperately.
With general instructions from the King, Link soon had you wrapped in a few blankets as you were now trembling all over. Just as he was propping your head against a couple of pillows the King of Red Lions addressed Link. "She is very sick Link ... we need to bypass Dragon Roost Island for now and head to Forest Haven." You coughed once more feeling an agonizing pain in your chest. "What's causing it?" the young boy asked. "I do not know but the inhabitants of the Forest Haven may be able to assist." Link nodded determinedly. "Then we shouldn't waste time we sail now." He sat at the stern and began sailing in the direction that the wind was billowing in.
Over the next two days you were drifting in out of feverish dreams, your condition seemed to be worsening. Other symptoms had mysteriously appeared in your body such as terrible earaches and increased chest pains. Memories of a strange plague struck within the recesses of your mind. Ganondorf had dedicated every hour of caring for you back in the Era of Time when that sickness had overtaken. How you longed for him despite the recent events. I must be rid of this ailment and soon ...my King needs me.
Your eyes slowly fluttered open once more only to be graced by the presence of a grand tree smiling benevolently. Link was crouched at your side a look of relief on his face. "Greetings to you Lady Y/N I have been expecting you. I am the Great Deku Tree of Forest Haven." You opened your mouth to speak however a nasty wet cough escaped your lips. The Great Deku Tree's jolly expression shifted to a frown. "I see this is far more serious than I thought," he said gravely. "Is there anything you can do to help her?" Link asked worriedly. The Great Deku pondered for a few moments until his wooden eyes glistened in realization. "My Koroks would usually assist in this matter, but as they are away I must rely on your aid young Link. Gather water from my spring, it may not be able to fully heal your friend but it should help her regain her strength."
Link took a fine glass bottle uncorked it and then gathered fresh water from the spring. He then brought it to your lips and helped administer the water passed your lips. Soon after your breathing became steady while a tiny hint of healing coursed through you. Link smiled widely as you responded well to this treatment. "Thank you Link and Great Deku Tree," you muttered hoarsely. Link stood rubbing the back of his neck. "The King of Red Lions wants you to rest here while we head to Dragon Roost. Hopefully, by the time we return you are well enough to travel." You grinned weakly and nodded. "I understand completely. I will do my best to make a full recovery by then. Be careful Link and may Hylia go with you." Link appeared a little saddened by the departure but he soon turned away and left the spring. The Great Deku Tree had assisted you onto a lily pad at his base so that he may keep a vigilant watch over. "Rest now my friend. Upon my Koroks return, I shall have them attend to you." The sound of the peaceful meadow and the trickling waters of the spring soon lulled you into a deep slumber.
