Chapter : 13 - Do You Fancy Me?

My eyes shifted from one pair to the other. Both of them a dark shade of nutbrown. While his were masked with something unreadable, the woman's eyes were perplexed.

She took her time looking at me, studying me. And I was quiet. Her eyes took in more of me and she slowly smiled. I studied her too. From her jet black hair like Qais but more wavy, and her rose gold skin, and her button nose. She looked like him. A lot like him.

"How are you Kashish?" She asked and I looked back at Qais.

"Aapa, d-don't make her un-un-uncomfortable." Qais said moving beside her and she looked at him.

"Okay." She whispered to him and gave a smile again.

"Can I get you something to eat Kashish?" She asked and I shook my head.

"It's okay Mrs-" I paused and looked at Qais and then awkwardly at her.

"Call me Aapa or didi anything." She smiled.

"Aapa." I mumbled to myself.

"I don't know, what to say. I thought I'd never see you." She suprised me with a sudden embrace and I let her. I still couldn't read Qais's stoney expression. But I sure was not excepting anyone from his family to be happy to actually meet me.

You really confuse me Qais. We could've worked on the assignment anywhere. A cafe or in any empty lecture hall. But you chose to bring me home. Your home. After what Vanessa told me about you, you intrigue me even more.

Is it because I've never had a friend? Or is it just the way you are? For a few mere moments I actually forget what I am. You really do make me forget things Qais. Or else I'd rather be practicing or reorganizing my closet than be here with you at your home. I realised it didn't even take me long to say yes to you to bring me here to your home.

Is it your eyes Qais, that I can't seem to say no to? Or is it just you? All of you? I thought you are a first in my life Qais. Maybe a first friend I've ever actually made. A first person that actually mean a friend to me. But with you, there are a lot of firsts. Aren't they Qais?

"K-Kash-ish?" He touched my shoulder to bring me back to the actual him. I mentally raised a brow at the time I actually spare to him. In thoughts and in person.

"Y-You are alright? I-I am s-sorry. My sister c-could be-" he shuttered awkwardly his plum lips stretching into an uneven smile.

A smile that seemed to rise a tremble in my chest. Often.

"No. I'm glad I could meet her. She's very humble." A hint of smile spread on my lips. It was actually a genuine one. Not something I forced on my lips all day long. My thoughts rushed me if it was only around him that I smiled with all my self or his smile was just contagious that actually make the corners of my lips rise everytime he smiles.

"My sis-sister is just suprised. I-I d-don't bring any f-friends home. U-Usually." He said awkwardly licking his lips and my eyes fell to them.

"It's okay Qais. I don't go much to a friend's home. Usually." His eyes stayed on mine. So dark and so black. It was a different shade of brown that I've ever seen. I didn't know that brown eyes was so different, or only his were this very different. They were so dark. Like a blackhole if I say. Drawing me to them to get lost in them forever.

Hypnotized, I didn't know I took a few steps towards him until his breath faltered and a gasp escaped my own lips. As if my body had a mind of its own, my hand raised to touch him. I didn't know what I was doing until his dark eyes closed for a brief moment as he drew a breath.
