ꟷ So what do we do now? ꟷ he asked, after not saying a word due how shocked he was. ꟷ Is this the time when we finally kiss?

ꟷ Yes ꟷ you smiled. ꟷ It's finally the time.

ꟷ That's good. ꟷ he sighed in relief, with his signature smile. ꟷ I've been waiting for that for a long time.

He moved closer slowly. It felt like young love. Something pure, sweet, and chaste, as if both were so nervous about to kiss for the first time.

In fact, it felt like a first time since you didn't have much experience. Before joining the crew, you spent most of the time trying to survive, and kissing wasn't your priority back then. After that, you saw most of the Whitebeard Pirates as brothers and never got interested in any of them. And whenever you went to a bar with the them, you never paid attention to other guys. Also, your "brothers" grew very protective of you anyway, especially after you got your first wanted poster.

However, Ace was more experienced than you were. Not overly experienced, though. He was also too focused on his own goals to think about relationships, but had his fair share of kisses. Still, he felt nervous, as if he was afraid to disappoint you.

Little did he know, that you were also afraid to disappoint him.

Your lips were so close, and when they finally touched, so softly, you understood how it was to feel butterflies on your stomach. Even if both of you were waiting for this moment, wanting to touch each other, the kiss wasn't as passionate. It was slow, it was gentle. One of his hand carefully touched your face, while the other rested on your thigh. With one of your hands, you gently pulled him closer, wanting to savor this moment.

You couldn't say it was just like you dreamed of, because it was much better. Better than any cliché movie, better than any dream. And when you two broke apart, he was smiling like a little kid, and so was you.

That night, neither of you slept until you saw the first rays of sunshine in the sky. You two were so happy and excited, spending the whole night talking and holding each other.

During breakfast, the crew noticed how you and the raven haired boy changed towards each other, holding hands, giggling and looking at each other like you two were so in love.

ꟷ It finally happened? ꟷ Thatch happily asked, already knowing the answer. He didn't even wait for one. ꟷ It took long enough!

The rest of the guys just kept teasing and giggling, of course, not with bad intentions, just because it was cute seeing a "couple" on the ship. Even Newgate seemed happy. He wasn't teasing, since he didn't want to get you flustered, but he did mention something about him blessing this relationship.

It wasn't even an actual relationship yet!

That night, Thatch decided to make a romantic dinner for you both. You told him it wasn't really needed, but he insisted.

Ace tried to do it the "right way". Since you both lived on the Moby Dick, he picked you up at your room. He was wearing a shirt! And even apologized for not bringing any flowers, because he couldn't find any on the ship. You held his arm all the way to the kitchen that was decorated with a few candles. Your friend wanted to decorate it with rose petals, but he wouldn't be able to find any. He also told the whole crew to stay away from the kitchen until the date was over. No peeking and no interrupting!

Your date pulled the chair for you, and acted as if it really was a first date, even though you've been friends for quite some time now. It was funny, but it was very cute how romantic he was trying to be.

He fell asleep a few times during the dinner, and he apologized every time. But you didn't mind. Instead, you cleaned his face that was covered with food, and reassured it, saying it was cute.

After eating, he took you to the deck, to your special spot, where you two stargazed until late that night, as usual. He held you close due the windy weather, and just talked and stole kisses from each other.

He felt so complete, so happy. He felt affection, he felt worth of love. Ace felt like he wasn't a monster like many people said he was.

If you, someone who was so kind and gentle, could see good things in him, who was he to doubt it?

By the end of the night, he left you in front of your room.

ꟷ Well, thank you for the date. I really had a good time. ꟷ you whispered, since the crew was already asleep. ꟷ I look forward seeing you again.

ꟷ I had fun too. ꟷ he smiled. ꟷ Do you want to have breakfast with me tomorrow?

ꟷ I'd love to. ꟷ you kissed his cheek. ꟷ You're too sweet.

He blushed, and touching where you just had kissed.

ꟷ I'll pick you up tomorrow, then. Goodnight, firefly. ꟷ he kissed your lips gently, and went to his room.

When you laid your head on your pillow, it was hard to fall asleep. You kept replaying the scenes from the past two nights on your head over and over. The last couple of days were being too good.
