Everyone was sleeping, and that night there was a storm like you haven't seen in a while. Being terrified of thunders, you tried to sleep, but even hiding under the blankets didn't make you feel safe enough. Feeling a bit embarrassed, you went to look for Ace. He wouldn't judge you for being afraid anyway. Maybe he'd playfully tease you, but nothing to make you actually feel bad.

Your boyfriend was asleep, and for a moment, you felt bad for waking him up until a loud thunder made you jump of fear.

— Ace... — you whispered, poking him gently, trying not to scare him or wake the others. — Hey, Ace...

It didn't work, he woke up alarmed looking around him thinking someone was attacking the ship or thinking the marines was around.

— What happened? — he then looked at you, in a large shirt and hugging a pillow to feel extra safe while walking down the hall. The raven haired boy couldn't help smiling thinking how cute it was. — Oh firefly, it's you. Is there something wrong? Are you ok?

— Yes, baby. I'm just... Afraid. — you looked down.

— Afraid? Of what? The storm?

You nodded, still feeling bad for having such a fear.

— Can you sleep with me? — you asked, shyly.

— Of course, let's go. — he got his pillow. He rarely used a blanket anyway, he never needed one, and pulled you closer, leading you to your room.

He laid on your bed, pulling you to lay on top of him with your head on his chest. His arms wrapped around you tight, protecting you from any storm or any other danger. The thunders didn't seem as scary. You two started talking, confessing the feelings for each other, making plans for the week and talking about whatever subject came up.

His touches awoke something in you. Until then, you never thought about sharing an intimate moment with Ace. Of course, you thought that someday it would happen, but you never planned nor thought it would happen anytime soon. But that night, being together in your bed so close to each other, his husky voice, his hands touching your lower back and his loving kisses, it seemed like the right moment.

You were too shy to actually say what you wanted, so you kissed him with more passion than before, and with your heavy breath and lust in your eyes, the raven-haired boy got the message. When he asked for consent and you said yes, he treated you as if you were the most fragile thing in the world, as if you were made of porcelain.

He was eager, but needed to go slow and take his time. Not just to enjoy every part of your body, but also so you wouldn't be scared. When you wanted to touch and kiss him too, when you said you wanted him to feel good, he only whispered "it's about you tonight, don't worry" before kissing your inner thighs.

Not even the moon, which was hiding behind the clouds and the heavy rain, was the witness of your night of passion. And not even your crew mates were able to hear the soft moans and the "I love you" that both whispered during that night.

By the end of the night, his back and shoulder had scratches all over, except on his jolly roger; and your neck was slightly red with bite marks. Both of you would be embarrassed the day after for sure, and your friends would probably tease you. But that's something you'd worry about tomorrow.

Ace was laying on his stomach, his head on your pillow, but still looking at you. You were laying too, looking at him as if he was the most beautiful thing you've ever seen, and in fact he was. You could also see he was tired, but trying to stay up talking to you. Surprisingly his narcolepsy didn't kick in.

— I'm sorry about that. — you whispered, tracing your fingers all over the red marks on your lover's back.

— It's ok, firefly. — he replied, smiling. — I'm sorry about your neck, we can try hiding it tomorrow. Thatch will tease us the whole day if he sees.

The next morning, the crew thought it was weird not seeing Ace anywhere, but when they saw him leaving your room with a messy hair and big smile on his face, everyone understood what it probably happened. But when they saw the marks all over his back, everyone got flustered and tried to avoid looking at him.

— Did you fight with a cat last night? — Thatch laughed. — Put a shirt on!

You got up with the crew looking at you blushing. You were glad you were able to hide the marks with makeup.

— Yes, and now we found the cat yoi. — Marco said as soon as he spotted you.

What made the situation even more awkward was the fact Whitebeard was there listening to everything. He never made any comments that could embarrass you on purpose, but he wanted to give advices and always meant well.

— You two are embarrassing them. — Newgate said. — But please, use protection. The pirate life is too dangerous to have a kid, especially right now.

You and Ace just nodded trying to avoid his gaze, but pops made a last comment.

— But someday I'm ok with having grandchildren.
